I WAS COCKY AT YOUR AGE TOO

Grim, Grimn, Grimoire, Noir
Correia has a huge following and it is easy to see why. He has carved out his own little niche. It is noir detective attitude, with Grimoire Magic, sometimes with grim results. It is not totally Steampunk, not totally Clockwork, but all alternative history. Buckminster Fuller was mentioned in the story and I had to look him up, knowing I had heard the name before. I had thought he invented geodesic domes, but turns out he did not, but he made them famous. He was an inventor and even worked on an air car.

This little story has Germans, Japs, Russian Spies, Commie Bastards, The Titanic (having never sunk), Blimps, Robots, Iron Guards, Magic, Fade Magic and Jake Sullivan who has control over gravity. It is all done in a fifties setting.

If you have not read Correia, this would be an excellent place to start. Some of his other works are fairly long. I am not a big fan of his writing, but I do appreciate his genius and creativity.

Pinchot is a great narrator.

An awesome short read.

A nice precursor to the next trilogy of The Grimnoir Chronicles.I can't wait for the next set of Grimnoir Chronicles.

Grimnoir kicks it

Larry Correia/Jake Sullivan by Bronson Pinchot is as good as audiobooks get. I just wish it was longer. Great

Straightforward, with flair

It's got the Correia flair, and I enjoyed it. Jake Sullivan is a fun character. But I'm not sure how enjoyable it will be to someone who hasn't read the Grimnoir trilogy (as I have), although there's a lot of set-up in the beginning to establish the world and powers. It ends with a tantalizing hint that there might be to come in the Grimnoir universe.

Short and sweet :)

Again, Larry succeeded in creating great story even though it didn't last long. Hopefully this is just a beginning of new, full-length novel.

Fun but not long enough

Bronson Pinchot's reading of the Grimnoir Chronicles is what made me fall in love with audiobooks and this short story is up to the usual quality. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is its novella length, and the fact that I yearn for more novels in this series. I want to see more, and this certainly lays the groundwork for more. Sadly, I haven't seen any indication that the author might be returning to the world.

What a fun book.

This is a well written, fast moving book that is a fun read between more heavy books I usually read. If you like swashbuckling futuristic novels you will like this novella.

Nice short story about Sullivan

This was great. short story that gives you just a taste of what Sullivan's life is like after the world saving battle of the 3rd book. The only thing I didn't like about this is it was to short! more please.
