An Epic Gamelit Series from the pen of Vasilyev winner of the Best Book of the Year!

Welcome to the Land of Fayroll where full immersion virtual reality gaming doesn't just exist, it thrives!

Tasked with a new assignment, journalist Harriton is given explicit orders to write a series of articles on the Virtual Gaming World of Fayroll and its developers. Harriton grudgingly accepts the assignment but soon finds himself enthralled by the virtual fantasy world and its amazing quests, unpredictable challenges and nearly endless possibilities.

As "Hagen the Warrior", he skeptically enters the fantasy world where the thirst for success and vanity of high-level players in pursuit of legendary objects spills into the real world. Here, high-stakes bets are made on the success of the virtual characters. Events and decisions that Harriton makes in the virtual space as Hagen now start to affect his own reality.

"More Than a Game" will exceed all expectations of fans of epic fantasy fiction and online gaming.

His unpredictable character, perseverance and excitement draw the attention of powerful gamers and influential Moscow elite with a devouring interest in Fayroll's outcome. It is not long before he realizes that this fantastic world conceals many dangers. Will he be able to pass all the tests? Start reading now!

low production quality

narrator/producer should have looked up the correct pronunciation for words such as scimitar. . .

what's with the homophobia and degrading women....

not very good,... story has potential but dialogue and performance are bad .. and a lot of homophobic statements and makes women out to be lesser beings. why are so many Russian novels like this

Story seemed good but the reader...

I gave up part way through due to the reader being terrible! lets mispronounced Lich numourus times fail to say MMORPG or stumble over other genre specific words.

That "OMAGUHWATEHFUHDONTGOYET!" feeling.

Absolutly worth the read! Or listen, in my case. I listened.
What started as a short half hour on the way to and then from work very quickly became listening both at and after my job! By chapter fifteen I was so emotionally invested in the story that the second book was already downloaded and qued up, and now that I'm about to start the second book I have the third just about downloaded and ready to listen to.
If you've ever played an mmorpg (whether prior to or after WoW)...
If you dream of a time of "full dive" VR...
If you regularly consider the possible sentience of AI...
Or even if you just like video games and LOTR, give the first book a try, at least.
Seriously, this book will absolutely give you that "OMAGUHWATEHFUHDONTGOYET!" feeling.

The narrator....

Well Adrian needs some serious coaching on how to pronounce some of the more fantasy related words. I hoped that by the second book someone would have helped him out but no. he continues to screw them up time and time again.

Bit mediocre

I bit of a different type Story 4 the genre. it's casual attitude is its strength and weakness. what's most problematic is it's narrator. I don't know how many dozens of mispronunciations this guy did but it got into an epic amount. he's also just unappealing in voice. hopefully the producers make a change, I'll probably pick up the second installment regardless.
