Not as enchanting as the first two in the series

I loved the first two books in this series, but this one just seemed to be trying too hard. I had trouble imagining Jane single-handedly fighting off a pack of werewolves, the vampire history and politics were confusing, and I wasn't sure if Rick was cheating on Jane or was being used. I really enjoyed Jane's shifting into Beast, and into other animals, in the previous books but there was little of that in this book. I will read the next in the series, but I'm hoping Ms. Hunter goes back to the roots of Jane's story.

The narration was just as perfect as in the previous books.

Reader still falling down on the job..

Okay, now instead of ARK-in-new for the name Arceneaux,, she's pronouncing it Are-CHIN-new. Hmmmm.... instead of being from Louisiana, he's now from China or Japan? It's Are-sin-oh. Thank goodness the next in the series takes place in North Carolina.

I'm in love with this series

I usually don’t enjoy the stereotypical vampire book anymore and avoid reading them. However, Jane Yellowrock has given me a taste for the genre all over again.

In the third book in the series, Jane is faced with several new challenges and characters, Werewolves, cat shifters, and out of work Mercy Blade and a disappearing Rick LaFleur. On top of a new position with the vampires, she was working security.

Nothing is ever simple for Jane, and what should be a typical security gig goes FUBAR quickly. Also, it is up to Jane to figure out what happened.

I am in love with this series so far, and especially Jane, she is such a badass character. I am already starting on the next book!

Awesome story and plot

I love the characters build up. Faith Hunter has provided a great background and each book brings a clearer understanding of the Vamps, weres, witches and others yet to be discovered. Jane Yellowrock's character brings a new light to a strong Dominate female. Love this series!

JANE AND BEAST VS WEREWOLVES......OH MY!!

If you could sum up Mercy Blade in three words, what would they be?

Couldn't stop listening!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Angie Baby because of her innocence. And yet.....she thinks like an adult when things get bad and she doesn't panic.

Have you listened to any of Khristine Hvam’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

YOU BET I HAVE!! Khristine Hvam is one of my very favorite narrators. I have several series she has done, and I will pick a new author just because she narrates. People have said that she sounds the same with all her voices. I disagree. Having listened to this series several times, I do hear the difference. The Cajun does need some help, buy otherwise, she is wonderful!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

OH!! I cried and laughed.

Any additional comments?

I have read all of the reviews for Faith's books and I don't understand how anyone can bash her like a couple have. I know it is their opinion and they have a right to it. HOWEVER...don't be a hateful, especially if you don't have all the facts straight. Faith had over 15 books written before the Skinwalker series was started (she also writes suspense under the name Gwen Hunter). I'm just sayin'.

Third YellowRock Novel

Love, love, love this character, and the rest of the ensemble cast (vampires, weres, blood servants and assorted other really bad scary people... in this series, the witches are mostly good, but when they are bad, they are very very bad... Nicely read as well.

Beast on the prowl

Jane is somewhat settling into her life in New Orleans. She has a job that pays well, even though Leo isn't quite himself yet. She has a boyfriend, the sexy Ricky Bo, and things are good between them. And she has a mentor of sorts, Aggie One Feather, helping her learn her Cherokee heritage. But of course things go very wrong and it's up to Jane to put the pieces together and save everyone, if she can.

The Weres have come out on national television showing the change. If that's not big enough news, the Werewolves are in town and accusing Leo of murder. Ricky Bo is deep undercover and it looks like trouble in Paradise, or is it more than that? The vamps are having a power struggle- and Jane is smack dab in the middle of it all.

Without giving too much away, I will say that a lot happens in this book. Jane meets not only werewolves but werepanthers and a couple of other unidentified Supes. There's a murder that escalates the tension between all groups and Evangelina is up to something. Her relationship with Ricky Bo is put to a test and the sexual attraction to Bruiser heats up! Beast is such a Slut, lol. Jane also learns more Vamp/Were history and even a little bit about herself. Not enough though and I hope she takes the advice about finding her cave. In the end, nobody comes out unscathed and Jane has decided it's time to go home. Will she? I don't know because there was a nugget of a cliffhanger with Ricky Bo. I really want to dive into the next book right now!

I'm hooked on this series!!

I'm loving this series! I love the action, I love the characters, I love it all!! This is what I've searched for after reading Anita Blake!! Thank you Faith Hunter for giving me the stories I have yearned for!! Jane kicks butt but it's still all woman!! The world building is great and the fact that you get a preview into the next book at the end of each book is wonderful!!
