Publisher's summary

Ian Black's commitment to safeguarding Earth has come at a price. His career as an illusionist is at a standstill and attending to the planet's needs has distanced him from his best friend, his guardians, and the woman he loves. When presented with an opportunity to perform, Ian seizes the chance. But moments before he takes the stage, Ian encounters the mysterious Jaered and a rebel force fighting to protect Earth alongside the Weir.

Jaered is determined to stop a malevolent Weir from releasing a drug capable of wiping out the last vestiges of their race and plunging Earth into self-destruction. But when Jaered is willing to sacrifice an innocent child to obtain the drug for himself, Ian risks everything to uncover the secrets of the rebel forces and their true intentions for Earth's survival.

The Weir Chronicles are great!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The author really does a great job of continuing the story and progressing things at a good pace. You will definitely want to start with book 1, but it is worth picking this series up and giving it a listen. With the narration and story telling, you won't be disappointed.

A curse, magic, a child with a secret and more

Masks and Mirrors
The Weir Chronicles, Book Two
By: Sue Duff
Narrated by: Christopher J Mayer
This is an audible book I requested and the review is audible.
This gets more exciting than as the story progresses. Weirs have magic. They also have enemies and they will stop at nothing to get the last Weir dead. This book is about a curse, enemies, a young child that has a secret even he doesn't know, and a lot of action. It is pretty fast paced and lots of suspense. Lots of surprises happen along the way and twists. Good job.
The narrator really had his job cut out for him. Accents, male and female. All ages from a 3 year old up. He did all the voices great! He kept the suspense high and the momentum going. Wonderful performance.

An amazing story

Wow what an ending, I didn't see that coming. Loved the further development of Jarod. Can't wait for the next book.
