Absolutely hated the narration

I've loved this whole series but almost quit listening because of the narration. All the music, sound effects & other unnecessary sounds were distraction & very annoying. I barely finished listening to the whole thing.

the narrator owes me a credit.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I'm not 4, I don't need sound effects and music in an audiobook.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The narration is so bad that listening to an otherwise great book is hard.

Did Lee Alan do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

NO! He needs to be beaten and never allowed around a recording device again. Why sound effects? Why music? Less is more. Just read the dang book for crying out loud.

Was Holding Their Own VI: Bishop's Song worth the listening time?

I had to speed up the cadence to get past the worst narration in the history of narrators. If my ears could cuss they'd make a sailor blush.

Any additional comments?

I mean good lawd! Book one was bad narration but I'd rather be donkey kicked in the cherries than listen to this guy again.

Background music and audio ruined it for me

I struggled to finish this one, the narration wasn't quite as good as the others but it was the horrible music and audio track that just killed it for me. I just about returned this one to Audible.

And now for the beating of a dead horse

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yeah, I guess..I listen on my two hours of drive time for work and when I do my dishes. NO, when I have to rewind because someone thinks it is cool to relive the radio shows of old and throw in the sounds of a vehicle. I get it, he is driving. I do not require audible aides for this.

What other book might you compare Holding Their Own VI: Bishop's Song to and why?

nothing compares ... Please do not take that as a good vote.

How could the performance have been better?

where to start..the idea may have been grand when you thought of it, it sucks 102 degree camel butt now

Could you see Holding Their Own VI: Bishop's Song being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

PFFFT! Hail no, all the men in this book sound alike, minus the 19 year old kid in the medical unit.

Any additional comments?

Brother, you write so well and your storyline is great. Just never pick your presenters, let someone that is not involved pick. But what do I know, you are making a dollar on this not me.

Great Story. Horrible narrator!

I've really enjoyed this series, but this new narrator is horrible!
I find myself having to force down revulsion at how he try's,and fails badly at changing his tone of voice to represent different people in the story.
He even mixes up the tones between characters, so you wonder who is talking, and why did that character say that.
Like I said earlier, great story, Horrible Narrator!

Good story - HORRIBLE narration

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes the story is a goodish one.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Holding Their Own VI: Bishop's Song?

It's not 'memorable', it's just a good tale.

What didn’t you like about Lee Alan’s performance?

Yeah, no. The sound effects were distracting and annoying. The sound level of the narration itself goes up and down randomly, causing it to be by turns quiet and loud. All the women sound awful. The 'echo' effect when the characters were thinking was annoying. There is no emotion in the reading, it's just stated 90% of the time. The male characters are all raspy-voiced and deep and I suppose 'manly'.

Audible should take in good stories, and *they* should get to choose or approve narrators. I've seen too many SHTF stories ruined by awful narration.

Was Holding Their Own VI: Bishop's Song worth the listening time?

For the story. The narration makes it a painful time, though.

Any additional comments?

Narration. Can we PLEASE have good narration?

Good story, narration was ok.

Would you consider the audio edition of Holding Their Own VI: Bishop's Song to be better than the print version?

never read the book.

What did you like best about this story?

good story

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

disliked the fact that all the women characters sound like 85 year olds, and grimm and other characters sound like they are sick and need to cough something up.

please stop sound effects

story is good, like the other books but "special effects" background sounds made tho ex almost unbearable, this is the 3rd narrator since series started which I find annoying like a band with a new lead singer on every new release. hope sound effects are gone on next installment

Horrible Choice of Narrator!

I’m not going to say the narrator was horrible but his performance to me doesn’t fit this series. I’m going to finish the series because it’s a great story. Hopefully I won’t have to listen to this guy, his music, and sound effects for the next few books.
