Publisher's summary

Recent art school graduate Bekah thought she’d hit the jackpot: an unknown relative died, and she inherited a small fortune and a huge house in the mountains of North Carolina.

Trey Howard, the lawyer who handled the estate, is a handsome man in his 20s and they hit it off right away - and soon become more than friends. Bekah expected a pleasant year to get her head together and have a romantic fling. Problem is, the house is full of junk...and siblings she didn’t know she had are willing to kill her for it.

More important, the junk in her new house is magical, she’s surrounded by monsters, and her life seems to be in mortal peril every time she ventures into a new room. As Bekah discovers more about her mysterious benefactor and the magical world he inhabited, she’s realizes that as tough and resourceful as she is, she might just be in over her head...

Heirs of Grace is a tale of family and magic, action and wonder, blending the strong heroine, cheeky humor, and dark fantasy that have become the hallmarks of Tim Pratt’s writing.

Was surprised how much I enjoyed this

Don't recall exactly why I picked this up but glad I did! Enjoyed everything about it and did as I see some others have done, checked to see if this was a series as I would have picked any further adventures.

Southern voices

Not all southern people sound like Blanch Devereux, and I would dare to bet that no one in Boone North Carolina sounds like this. Drives me a little crazy.

Such a fun fantasy

I love interesting magic systems and this one is no exception. It's also a lovey story about inheritance, family, and legacy.

Really enjoyed this book

This book is a bit like listening to a sitcom. Lots of serious situations not taken very serious, lots of punchlines and jokes. If you don't mind your storytelling done in that fashion you should really enjoy this one. The characters are likeable and dislikeable and it's an interesting take on magic.

Good, but boring in bits

The narrator was good. The story was good, but the book dragged on in places. Not sure I'd read it again.

Quirky and unique

This book moves at a fast pace with a unique storyline and resolution. Fun characters and quirky family ties made it a very entertaining listening experience.

Enjoyed the talent of the writer, despite my dislike for the subject.

I had no idea this was a fantasy novel. I do not like reading about things that are impossible. Magic, monsters, shape shifters, and such ilk really turn me off. However,Jim Pratt is such a good writer that I kept listening to the audiobook. He made the heroin and hero very likable and interesting, And included enough about normal life between the two of them to keep me listening. Well I didn’t enjoy the subject, he did handle most of the unbelievable fantasy very well.

Since I’m not familiar with Jim Pratt’s work, I’ll check to see if he writes anything besides fantasy—if so, I’ll definitely be interested in it.

Normal only Child to...OMG!

Heirs of Grace by Tim Pratt is full of magic, personalities and finding your way in life. Bekah is the main character and the main heir. She is going to art school and seems quite lost. She has lots of attitude and opinions, some self-righteousness going on too. She is also independent with a touch bravery.

I liked the characters and there were many of them. The interaction between the siblings was crazy at times. The oldest daughter and the matter eating brother are ones no one would want on their family tree. The things that Bekah had to learn about magic and the way her father tried to assist from the beyond were insane but very entertaining.

I purchased the audible book on sale because it sounded interesting. I mean who wouldn’t want to inherit a magical house and find out that they had magical powers too. I am glad that I did as I found the quirky story was just what I needed for a business trip.

The story was narrated by Leslie Hull. I think she did a good job. She definitely brought the story to life. Her accents were pretty good. However, I still went back and forth between the narration and actually reading the Kindle book myself.

My rating is 4 stars, I love the story and narration. If you are looking for a fun read or would prefer to listen this is a great book for some summer reading.

My favorite ghost/witch book.

Glad to see there is a little diversity in the powers that be realm. However that is not the only reason why it is my fav list. The story and characters are developed neatly. I do wish that the heroine used adult vocabulary. I would think that by her age boys would no longer be an interest. I also wish there was a continuation to the story.

Grace & his Crazy Heirs

I absolutely loved this story. The narrator had done an awesome job giving individuality & life to each character & was funny as Hell:)The book was soo imaginative, creative & chuck full of suspence, humor & adventure. You never get bored listening or reading.I loved Becka's view of things, she was a riot with how she dealt with things, especially"The First Born"her eldest sister from her biological &"wizard"father.Fun,creative characters, great back stories all with in an awesome back setting of multitudes of different places & scenes.Would be great if made into a movie like Harry Potter but this book is in no way for kids.Imaginative enough for sure but with adult content.I highly recommend listening. The Title & cover of this book doesn't do the story justice.Loved It!
