Publisher's summary

He's Quincy Harker, the unaging son of Jonathan Harker and Mina Murray. His guardian angel calls him "Q". Dracula calls him "nephew". His bosses call him a pain in the ass. Demons call him The Reaper.

On the run and reeling from his bloody battle with the demon Orobas, all Harker wants to do is lie low in Lockton, Ohio for a few months and let his physical and spiritual wounds heal. But there are werewolves in the diner, and magically-talented teenagers disappearing all over town. Now Harker's hip-deep in demons again, but this time he's got no backup.

Meanwhile. Detective Rebecca Gayle Flynn and the rest of Harker's team are back home in Charlotte, NC, trying to prove his innocence and figure out Orobas' next move. But no one knows how corrupt Homeland Security or the police department are, or how high the scandal runs. And now some guy shows up claiming to be the great-great-grandson of Doctor Watson (yeah, that Dr. Watson) offering to help?

Will Harker survive a battle with Hell in a small town all on his own?

Can Flynn and Uncle Luke find the proof they need to bring Harker home?

Will they stop Orobas' master plan before he unleashes Hell on Earth?

Who is this mysterious Shadow Council, and what do they want?

When all else fails on Earth, will Heaven Help Us?

Great series

Any additional comments?

Hartness is so good with this series. The narration is perfect. The main character is a perfect mix of funny and kick ass. Can't wait for the next one.

Magnificent story telling...

... both the writing and the narration. I love the way the chapters alternate between Harker and Flynn, due to their forced separation. This approach added to the "cliffhanger" of the last chapter.

As always, characters are brilliant - and sometimes expendable - and the creative mind, writing skills, and continuity from one book to the next is expertly executed, as is the narrator's performance. One of my favorite series.

Harker is back and as bad as ever

Everyone's favorite mouthy 1/2 vampire wizard is back. Introducing the dark council, a pack of werewolves, demon fueled football team, a vengeance seeking demon, dr Watson and more. If you haven't gotten into this series yet then now is the time. Start here and get the rest. It's just too good to pass up. Great story and the narrator perfectly captures the snarky voice of harker and does very well with the others as well. Highly Entertaining

Any additional comments?

Once again another great addition to the series. These books are just addicting. You know as soon as you start one you are in for a very enjoyable, humorous and highly entertaining few hours of fun. These stories are never a disappointment.

Definitely start at the beginning of the series. It's worth every minute of your time.

Even though this is a shorter story it doesn't feel like it. From start to finish it's packed full of non-stop action, suspense, mystery and intrigue.

The perfect combination of author and narrator.

James Foster once again does a fantastic job with the narration. Nice voice. Easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a smooth even pace. Great character voices. One of the best narrators out there. Very enjoyable

Another masterful addition to the Harkerverse

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Dresden , Alistair Stone, etc. It is a humorous and action packed demon slayer adventure. There are many and varied characters in the series and this one is my favorite.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harker is my favorite of the characters, though most of them are funny and intriguing. Harker has humor, wit, brains and a devil may care attitude that compels me to read through in one go.

Have you listened to any of James Foster’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

James does a superb job with the characters and relaying the sense of the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it is, and I did.

Harker IS THE Best Demon Hunter

Heaven Help Us while we wait for the next adventure! Demon Hunter is an awesome series. This is my fourth one and I love it. I need to catch up with the others. Harker is a badass with a zero f's given attitude. These are very well thought out and penned and the length is perfect. (I listen while doing artwork or coloring). Such a nice way to spend time with a project and a great audiobook. John G. Hartness is an amazing author.

James Foster is THE perfect voice for Harker. He's so amazingly good. I'm a huge fan of his work as he's a super skilled voice actor. Definitely recommended listening.

Love Quincy Harker!

Another great continuation in the Quincy Harker series. James Foster brings Quincy and friends to life by giving them each a personality all their own. Hartness put his twist on the story of Harker's origins and added sarcasm, attitude, action, and on occasion, a death wish or two.

Another Winner From Hartness

“Heaven Help Us” is the latest offering in the Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter series and continues the multi-part story that began in book 5, Typically, John Hartness writes a stand alone novella each quarter. This time he has written a novel length story that he’s breaking up into quarters. The story is excellent. The characters are interesting and the humor is on point. Book 7 picks up right after the end of book 6. The demon Orobas is still on the loose and Quincy Harker is laying low in a small town where he encounters a demonic operation that is exploiting high school teenagers. Although excellent, book 7 is mostly a diversion from the main story that started in book 5. But don’t let that stop you from reading/listening to it.

Once again, James Foster narrates this series and I don’t think it’s even possible for anyone else to do a better job than him. Mr. Foster is simply one of the best audio book narrators working in the field. In addition to the Quincy Harker series, you should also try Mr. Hartness’ Bubba The Monster Slayer and his Black Knight Vampire series. Finally, this audio book was provided by the narrator at no cost in exchange for an honest review courtesy of Audio Book Boom.
