BOOK 3 IN THE IRON DRUID CHRONICLES

Thor, the Norse god of thunder, is worse than a blowhard and a bully - he’s ruined countless lives and killed scores of innocents. After centuries, Viking vampire Leif Helgarson is ready to get his vengeance, and he’s asked his friend Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the Druids, to help take down this Norse nightmare.

One survival strategy has worked for Atticus for more than two thousand years: stay away from the guy with the lightning bolts. But things are heating up in Atticus’s home base of Tempe, Arizona. There’s a vampire turf war brewing, and Russian demon hunters who call themselves the Hammers of God are running rampant. Despite multiple warnings and portents of dire consequences, Atticus and Leif journey to the Norse plain of Asgard, where they team up with a werewolf, a sorcerer, and an army of frost giants for an epic showdown against vicious Valkyries, angry gods, and the hammer-wielding Thunder Thug himself.

Love this series!

I really love this series. These books are great for my short attention span. They're full of action, comedy and more than a little bit of danger. I'll keep listening as long as Kevin Hearne keeps writing. The ending was a wee bit irksome but I'll patiently wait for the next book and an explanation :)

A Dashing Druid!

This was a great surprise for me. It was recommended because I LOVE Jim Butcher and it was a really fun book. A refreshingly original concept with a wonderful hero. Atticus is a Druid who is over 2000 years old but is blending into society in Arizona. He owns a new age store and sells medicinal herbs and brews a mean tea. There is a plethora of wonderful characters and a terrific Irish Wolfhound that steals the show. I am thrilled to have discovered this series with a few books already out because I would have hated to wait for the next installment.

Good book but don't buy it.... yet

If you like Harry Dresden, then you'll probably like these. I like them a little better.

This is a good book, and nicely develops the story of the first two. However this one and the last are major cliffhangers, and given you're going to have to wait for a year to see the story develop (it feels like its only halfway through), I would recommend buying, but not now. File away to buy in a year (or two if the next one is the same) and then buy the whole series.

Great story, characters and fantastic narration!

What other book might you compare Hammered to and why?

It continues the wonderful Iron Druid Series

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels – was your favorite?

I think Leif is great! He's so straight, yet I find him funny!

Any additional comments?

I really enjoy this series and Luke Daniels is absolutely amazing as a narrator. He has so many fantastic voices and they are all so different. I don't know how he does it but I am constantly impressed with his talent!

Did it again

I like this series of Druid stories. There might be a part or two that went against my beliefs but keep in mind the continuous background story and it is only a story. Twists, turns, ups, down and any other other direction you can imagine. This author has quite an imagination. The narrator is great. All the different voices were perfect. I enjoyed this as much as the first two. I'm looking forward to the next.

I Love the series!

This is one of the most amazing series. I've enjoyed them so much that I've listened to them multiple times and have even gifted them. I love how much lore is included and how deities from all over are represented!

Better

The first two books were kind of slow, not really that interesting. I feel Mr. Hearne hit his stride with this one. Story is a little predictable at times, but all in all I have enjoyed it thus far.

Warning!

Once you start reading these books, you may not be able to stop reading until the last page. Then there is an urgent need to accure the next book of the series. Great entertainment! As are all the IDC's. When a new book is released you just have to squeeeeee! It's always fun to add a new author to your list, like meeting a new friend. Thank you Mr. Hearne, and Merry Christmas.
