Publisher's summary

It's been four months since Alex gave everything to save Jessica. Life should be perfect; she has Alex, she's been freed of the nightmares, and most of all - she's alive. But some things have changed, some things haven't. That's the problem. Alex still hasn't asked "the question". Jessica can't see the reason why, and it's tearing her apart. He's keeping something from her.

Alex isn't the only one who has changed though. Something is different about Jessica, but she doesn't understand what's happened. She just knows something's wrong, that she feels different than she used to, on a skin deep level. And it may keep her and Alex apart. Forever.

But while Alex and Jessica struggle to stay together, Cole is not about to be forgotten. There are a few things he didn't tell Jessica, about his past and her future. There are reasons why he came after her, reasons that are tied to his history that is darker than she could have ever realized.

Disappointed

**REVIEW FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES ** SOME SPOILERS.

Narrator did a good job in her performances of all character's and giving them their own voices. My only complaint is her incessantly sighing throughout the entire series.

Didn’t enjoy this nowhere near as much as the House of Royals series, which is why I ventured into more from Ms. Taylor as I devoured that series in a matter of a week, all 3 of the intertwining series within.

Quite a few flaws with this one. SO much angst. Insta love. Immature. etc. It's been only 4 mos and mentions of Alex's non aging comes up more than I could kept count of. At 23yrs old, why would this even be mentioned ??

Cole's storyline just didn't make sense to me in the end.

I couldn't like Jessica after her constant berating of Alex for not proposing to her.

This was altogether much too YA (clean) for me. I find it very difficult to buy into any 20yr old heroine or 23 yr old hero, to have enough life experience/maturity to behave the way these two do, well, Jessica acted her age in her ridiculous behaviors.  I wouldn't recommend it.

Angels continue to ruin Jessica's life

If you have not read/listened to book one Branded, I would start there. Jessica is no longer being judged by the angels for the lives of other people. As a fan of the last book, it is nice to see Jessica having a chance of normalcy. However, life can never be ordinary for her. While the story moves forward in an entertaining, although sometimes predictable, direction. My only complaint is she gets a bit whiney for my taste.

The 1st book was good but then .....

The 1st book was good so you want to read this one right ... well it definitely starts going downhill from here. her constant repetitive use of the same words and the same Description‘s over and over and the dragging on of the story I would not recommend reading this book especially because once you get to the third book it is at just horrible ! literally the third book had no purpose, the whole book could’ve been put into two extra chapters maybe three and added to this one I’m pretty sure there’s only a third book for the royalties

Forsaken-Fall of angles

What made the experience of listening to Forsaken the most enjoyable?

I liked how the author was descriptive when she wrote this one i think that she really didn't do that in the first book branded.I like how in this book she got on to the story it took a little while for her to do that in branded.I loved it but i loved the first one more better.I have to say the best part was the ending not to give anything out but i just wanna read the nest book like now.

What other book might you compare Forsaken to and why?

I might compare this book to the first book duh because in the first book she was alone, was scared, had the nightmares. Now she doesn't have the nightmares, she had a lot more friends and she's not scared anymore.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I think the parts that move me was the romance parts when they kissed and who they wouldn't leave there side.

Any additional comments?

You need to read this book like now if you are reading these comments but first read branded

Oh brother...

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A better plotline! I mean, really! A whole book that is dedicated to the main character whining about why her boyfriend of a few months won't propose to her?! A - she's only 20-21 years old. B - get a freaking life! What message does this send to young women...as long as you find a rich guy who might be willing, don't worry about making something of your own life, just badger and rage until you get a ring????

And better characters...every single character in this book is so disgustingly one-dimensional. Good/evil. That's it. No layers, no depth, no NOTHING!!

The "events" in this book hardly qualify to justify the word. What is supposed to be the "disasters" that move the book along, are bared "incidents." They are over almost as soon as they start, giving the characters zero opportunity to do anything.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Anything but the final book in this series.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anne Marie Susan Silvey?

Don't care. This book isn't worth narrating.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

An unending stream of irritation at the supreme ridiculousness of this plot. There was a moment of anger when the "bad guy" completely gives up on his entire motivation without blinking an eyelash. Its almost as if the author suddenly thought..."OK, I'm done with you, now how can I get rid of you as quickly and as unimaginatively as possible?"

Any additional comments?

Don't bother listening to this. Unless you are a 1950s housewife, you will sorely regret it if you do...

Engaging and quick

I enjoyed this book. I found it engaging and yes a bit formulaic but sometimes the formula works, right? I'd consider it light reading. The story weaves around the characters and drew me in. It's not the next great novel probably more on par with twilight than Tolkien but in my opinion there is a place for reading just to enjoy. I listened to this and the other out now in this series at 1.25 speed and was able to maintain the story with no problem. Not sure if that is a good or bad sign but for me it means I can enjoy it trickling into my head without the need to have deep thoughts about the content or story. Personally when I just want to veg that is the sweet spot as far as I am concerned.

The book provides a glimpse into an alt universe where angels decide the fate of man and Angels include both the heavenly and devilish. Of course it has a base in a love story with intrigue. Good guy vs bad guy. Lots of misunderstandings and miscommunications. Inner dialogue that is self centered. And in the end the good guy ... Oops I'll leave that for you to discover.
