Publisher's summary

How does Alburet feel about Stacia suddenly becoming his Succubus? How will her family react to her sudden change? While trying to handle this sudden transition, Mindblown is also going to take the server down for maintenance.

Alburet will have to deal with emotional turmoil, all while continuing to play the game he has been sentenced to play for life. What else is about to change in Alpha World?

Mindblown announces the ability to form guilds. Alburet sees an opportunity to form a guild himself and takes it.

Note: This is a continuation of the Alpha World saga. It contains real life situations, including sensual scenes that don't get fully graphic but might make you uncomfortable. It also contains hunting monsters and gaining levels, but not at a break-neck pace.

Good story and great LitRPG style.

A great story with strong characters. I have listened to it multiple times. Get the whole series.

Excellent

Easily one of the best series for LitRPG. Awesome plot and very fleshed out characters. The rpg element of the game is fantastic and it doesn't feel like the protagonist has an "easy button" that is so often rampant in other books of the genre I've read. It would be even better if the narrator could have a touch more variety in the accents and tone of differing characters but overall well done. Keep them coming please!!!

The negative reviews are a travesty!

I don't normally write reviews, in fact I believe this is my first one ever despite owning over 30 titles in the litrpg/fantasy genre. Unfortunately I feel absolutely compelled to write a review here because I found a lot of the criticisms unfounded.
Common Criticisms:

1. This book is over sexualized.
This argument is completely FALSE in my opinion. When reading the other reviews I was actually worried I might have been buying the Litrpg equivalent to 50 shades of grey (yuck!). You can imagine my surprise when not only are the vast majority of details omitted from the main characters "entanglements" as is the industry standard, but each of such events tended to be brief a few little more than a footnote to explain future dialog between characters. Truly I feel you'd find more sexualization in your standard anime.

2. Zero plot/ Nothing happens
Again, FALSE. It is apparent even before starting the 3rd book of this series that book 2 is designed to expand upon the world book 1 created. There isn't much obvious headway through the "main objective" but there are deeper world building elements which are explored as well as necessary "side objectives" to help flesh out characters and future story arcs, most of which are handled thoughtfully, and lay the ground work for future books in this series. This is extremely common in most series and does not diminish the main story in any significant way.

3. "Kitten"
As you've no doubt read this pet name given to a primary character in the story annoyed and revolted quite a few of the reviewers/listeners. At first I myself didn't mind it that much, but then again I've also given pet names to a girlfriend/lover before. I will admit fully that it is overused, and could have been replaced by other more colorful words like 'lover', 'dear', or the characters name just to keep it from becoming too frequent. I will also admit a few spots it was used made me, for lack of a better word 'tense up' as it began to grate on the nerves. I do hope in future books this gets managed better and as my only real complaint eagerly await books 4 and 5 to someday make there way to audible.

Excellent example of the LitPRG genre

An excellent example of the LitPRG genre BUT includes ADULT and Male Chauvinist aspects. The performance is very good; including accents. Despite the chauvinism the male-female interaction is spiced with humor and strong female characters mixed with the submissive females.

Great sequel

Great continuing novel in the Alpha World series. Written in the same great style as the first, and a pure pleasure to listen to!

Kittens everywhere!

it's a good book, the only thing that makes it get a 4 in overall is the lack of sound effects, it of course is not really needed, but it would have been nice to have 😅

Overall the story is a continuation of the last book, it complements it really well and keeps you interested the entire book through!

I recommend it dearly if you have read the first book.

Great fun

As the story continues I am more a more amazed at how the author has captured the essence of what it means to be a gamer.
