Magic and fire burn....

The serenity of the Land of Faerie is threatened as the Unseelie queen, Aveta, rages war against the three remaining Seelie Realms of Faerie. As Shade's powers grow, she finds she is running out of time to keep the war from spilling into the human world. Winter is growing in strength as the evil queen's horrifying legions scar the land in their frigid wake. No one is safe. Shade becomes enemy number one for the Unseelie legions. Questioning her true role of power, Shade discovers the cost of winning may come at a much higher price than she ever imagined.

Not for me

Listening to Ever Fire, book 2, without reading or listening to book 1 was a mistake. I had a problem keeping my head straight about some of the characters and happenings. Alexia Purty is a good writer so maybe I'll go back and start with book 1. Nancy Peterson always has a great voice for narration and this one is no different!

Awesome urban fantasy

I'm enjoying this series very much. I'll read just about any urban fantasy, but this one is quickly becoming a fav. Dark and a little bit angsty, just how I like it.

The narrator gave a good performance. Very well done.

Fairies aren't my thing

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

If you like fairy stories AND you read the books in order you'll probably like this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Alexia Purdy again?

Yes

Everfire

I liked this sequel to Evershade. It did seem to be lacking in some areas, but overall it was decent. There was an ongoing repetitive quality and I think the book would've benefitted from additional development of the secondary characters. Despite this, I will be reading the next book in the series because I am interested in seeing where it leads.

Overall a Fun Listen

Would you listen to Ever Fire again? Why?

I might listen to the rest of the series. The concept of this world and a fairy world was interesting. I think listening to the first book first would be best.

Any additional comments?

Not sure why she calls her mother by her first name. It makes her seem very distant and awkward.<br/>I received this audiobook for free in exchange for a review via Audiobook Blast.

I love this series

Would you listen to Ever Fire again? Why?

Absolutely! Alexia Purdy is one of my go to writers. If she writes it I'm going to read and listen to it. That being said Ever Fire continues Shade journey through the land of faery. Shade meeting her grandmother is one of my favorite scenes in any book. Soap of course stole my heart and is Shade doesn't pick him I want him! The story is so deep, the characters so rich this is one I will listen to over and over again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ever Fire?

Her meeting her grandmother

Which character – as performed by Nancy Peterson – was your favorite?

It's a tie between Soap and Lana

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

A sad scene- no spoilers here - that happens during a fight

Any additional comments?

This is a series you will want to listen to over and over

<br/>Shade is learning to be a Fae and her travels bring her to someone she would least expect.<br/><br/>She soon makes an alliance with the Queen, but, she wonders if she should trust it or if it was a mistake.<br/><br/>There are whispers of Shade being apart of a Prophecy but she doubts she will have much to contribute to it. <br/><br/>Overall, an Interesting read or listen with several love triangles and a few twists.<br/><br/><br/>Nancy Peterson did really well with the narration.<br/>I rated the book 3 stars but the narration was rated 4 stars.<br/><br/>Note:<br/>"This audio book was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review."<br/><br/>

A fast paced and engaging sequel

Would you listen to Ever Fire again? Why?

Yes I would. It was a very fast paced and character driven book. Very interesting and likeable characters, especially Shade and the adventures and world that you are drawn into make it a book that you can easily come back too.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Shade. The story draws you in and you care about her character. Will she find out about her father and any other family and what about the people who she grew up with. She's interesting, strong enough, vulnerable enough and complex enough to be a character that you connect with.

Which character – as performed by Nancy Peterson – was your favourite?

Shade is a great character. I thought the narration of all of them and the entire book was great but both the narration and the writing bring our main character to the fore front.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I can honestly say that I was drawn into the book from the start. It feels full of life and Shade is coming into her own, developing her gifts and her strengths. It's a great ride!
