Publisher's summary

"Please tell me you are working on the next one!"

"It's nice to find a new idea on how people came to be zombies."

Civilization shuts down as the world's population fills the streets in a deadly orgy. They feel only pleasure and never pain, even as they are injured, maimed, and mutilated. The few who remain unaffected struggle to survive, unaware that things are about to get unbelievably worse.

Cooper is among the few survivors of an apocalypse that is a result of a conspiracy to depopulate the world. One week ago, college was his biggest concern. Now he is on a perilous journey to find his sister. But zombie attacks aren't the only threat he faces. In this nightmarish reality, the living can be far more dangerous in this new dystopia.

Things Euphoria Z taught me....

Some lessons I learned while listening to Euphoria Z:
#1..It is possible to survive the apocalypse if you are obese if you have young attractive nubile partners to shove you and roll you everywhere. And don't mind the "fat" jokes, they jest with love.
#2...if you have a mental break down because you saw dad and grandad murdered, a dose of clonapine a day, will leave you in a state of fugue FOR ELEVEN years and you will somehow join a gang and murder people.
#3.... All strippers are druggie whores. Even in the apocalypse.

Really, not a horrible book. The narrator was very good. The storyline was a little hard to follow.
YMMV

Book 1

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

A new twist on the old zombie theme. Loved the way all the stories merged together towards the end in a believable, sensible ending.

VERY LONG..BUT NOT BAD..ENDING PEAKED MY INTEREST!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Ehhh Idk....maybe if they liked the zombie genre...because this has a new fresh twist to it....

Would you be willing to try another book from Luke Ahearn? Why or why not?

I have, and I would...Luke writes well..but this book has some things in it that I disliked...but also things I liked...

What does Roberto Scarlato bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Roberto.he can read to me anytime!..

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really....made me mad...absolutely!

Any additional comments?

** I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review **

This is a fresh twist on the zompocalypse...but I still don't understand why these 9 rich dudes decided to wipe out most of the population....and they way this story hops around was really confusing at times....you really couldn't get a chance to solidly bond with anyone...that being said...Luke is a good writer...he is very descriptive, and paints a good clear picture...that is always an awesome thing in a book...especially in an audio book....

What I did like....I liked Cooper....he was really a good character...I would have liked this book more if his point of view and story was more of the focus...I liked the outbreak, how it started as a delirium and caused people to literally love each other to death...I liked Sal and the group...that is really needed in an end of the world situation...and I like the ending...it opened up this series to be something I want to know more about!

What I didn't like...The racial slurs, and fat hate...the multi character hopping around...the way certain parts made strippers look like promiscuous druggies...and bikers look like predators and women beaters...that is generalizing a whole group of people...and this story was very drawn out..it could have been condensed and been awesome, other than just ok....I still am extremely interested in book 2...

A very entertaining listen.

This is a genre I enjoy reading/listening. Euphoria Z wasn't your typical cookie cutter zombie apocalypse story. It had enough unique elements to make it fresh - not cliche. I like that it wasn't all just action - boom, boom, boom - but a satisfying amount of character development before the thrills.

This is the first book by Roberto Scarlato I've heard. I have to admit, at first I wasn't sure if I was going to like his style of narrating - my first reaction was that it was somewhat stiff - but as the story developed I wasn't distracted at all - but immersed. And isn't that what the narrator is supposed to do? His voicings of the different characters were strong and distinct.

An enjoyable listen.

Awful. Couln't get past the first quarter of it.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

New storyline

What could Luke Ahearn have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Why all of the orgy?

How could the performance have been better?

Narrator was fine.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Euphoria Z: Euphoria Z, Book 1?

Too much orgy.

Any additional comments?

Silly, immature content - and I LOVE zombie stories!
