Publisher's Summary

From the author of Ender's Game, the Hugo and Nebula award-winning international best seller, comes the parallel novel, Ender's Shadow. In the first book, child-hero Ender Wiggin battles a deadly alien race and wins. But Ender wasn't the only child in his Battle School. There was also Bean, the one who became Ender's right hand, his strategist and his friend, the only one who was with him in the final battle. Now Card tells Bean's whole story, while expanding and complementing the earlier tale.

    "I Don't Agree"

I don't agree with some of the reviews saying this was a terrible audio book. If you don't intend to read the books, and just listen to them, as I do, there is nothing wrong with this book. I enjoyed just as thoroughly as I did Ender's Game. Of course I'd love the unabridged version of any book, but this was a great story--it was very fun learning about Bean's story and a good prelude to the next book. I also had no problems hearing the recording.

    "The worst audio quality yet!"

Love the Ender series but the audio quality of this book was pathetic.
Listening to this audiobook was like listening to a 1940s wireless radio.

"Audio too bad to listen to"

Seriously. Get the other version. This recording sounds like Michael Gross recorded it from inside one of the creatures in Tremors.

"Terrible sound quality. It ruined the audiobook."
What would have made Ender's Shadow better?

A much much better audio quality. I can hardly judge the performance.

    Any additional comments?

I think I should get a credit refund. I was like reading a book with blurry letters

    "awesome and exciting"

this book was true to the original and just as exciting. The story delved into another primary character with an equal struggle yet alternate problems that thrill the imagination.

    "Great Story....Lousy Production"
What disappointed you about Ender's Shadow?

The quality of the recording is very poor. The performance is good, it is the actual quality of the audio that is bad. It takes some getting used to. I expected better from Audible. Someone should have cleaned this one up before offering it for sale here.
