A Worthy Sequel

So much plot expansion happens in this installment of the Dune series, and it's amazing. Truly a case of plans within plans, feints within feints.

I wish the narration had been kept in the same format as the first book because there were so many more characters and events in this sequel that the changes in voices for narration became a little muddy. Other than that, this was expertly read/performed.

Surprised Me!

I spent the entire book thinking I was just going to hate this, but finally in just the last 30 minutes, it net every expectation that I didn't know I was holding against the book.

Loved it

I had read the first Dune book many years ago, before recently hearing the audio book, and loved it.

I wondered if I would have the same enjoyment with the sequel I had never read, and was happy to find I did.

Amazing book and I'm ready for the next in the series!

Great

Great continuation of the Dune series. Well done. I recommend it to anyone who likes Science Fiction although I would suggest listening to Dune first.

Lacking follow up

WHile a good book in it's own right, I dont think it had the same spirit as the first one. It seemed all over the place and didnt have a antagonist other than perhaps Paul himself. I still plan on finishing the series

Joyous

I missed how much production value went into Dune, but the read for this was fabulous. Really enjoyed the narration changes.

Glad to be back on Dune...

Really enjoyed the 2nd book. Though it's not as good as the first. Story is solid. Characters are awesome. Narrators do a fantastic job.

Too many narrators... loss of continuity

Read the book ages ago. I found I had a different perspective on the story line. What was aggravating was the lack of continuity in voices for the characters, especially the supporting roles. It made things a bit hard to follow.

lazy ending

I loved this book but the ending was super lame and disappointing. Feels lazy like Frank was bored of writing and said to himself "yup good enough"

Less performative than the first, but just as good

The first book has scenes played out with different actors, while this is just a straight reading. That being said, I liked this reading. The choice of narrator was a bit haphazard, but I loved it all the same.

It’s really just the fourth part of book one, and when viewed as such, is beautiful and complete.
