Very Disappointed

Any additional comments?

I had high hopes for this book, but was very disappointed. I was going to return it after the first couple of chapters, but decided to listen on. I do like the overall story line (the reason I kept listening), however the actual writing leaves a lot to be desired. The writing feels choppy, some things don't make sense, for instance; the setting is a series of islands, yet the main character doesn't know what an ocean is, what kind of islands are these? It's never explained. Plus I know you want a main character to be accomplished, but a 15 year old that is a beautiful singer, dancer, engineer, pilot, sword master and more seems a bit much. To top it all off the ending was very disappointing, wish I would have returned it.

Wonderful adventure

Great dragon story. Wonderful story, characters & adventure. Excellent interweaving of Dragon society, lore, nobility & unwaivering loyalty & friendship. Im so excited to have a new series to fall in love with.

Amazing!

This book is simply amazing! I have to say I never thought I'd fall in love with a book like I did Eragon however this book is simply awesome! the way the characters come to life and makes you want to read more and more is simply incredible. I won't spoil anything but I will say if you read this book you will be brought into a world that is like no other! 5 stars all the way through and I can't wait to read more in this series and the other books this author has written! so recap if you love eragon then you will fall in love with this series as well! Marc Secchia you're giving my favorite book series a run for it's money and I can't wait to read more.

Pretty Bad

I think the target audience is young girls, probably between 10 and 12. I should have returned it. It's more about Dragonettes than dragons. It's a coming of age story of a 15 year old young woman and a Dragonette. The only reason I was able to finish it is because I was working on a project at the same time and the story was easy enough follow without needing to give it my full attention. The narration was fair.

Enjoyable but problematic

I have mixed feelings about this book. I enjoyed it, but the character development wasn't great. Lia kills a lot of guards without a second thought (to be fair they probably would have attacked her if she didn't, but she acted preemptively) then towards the end the book states that every death pained her. Then there's the relationship between her and the dragon Grandion, which is not at all healthy. At one point, after she was attacked and thrown in jail just because she, as a woman, dared to carry weapons on her person, he is angry AT HER and apparently wanted to "put her over his talon and give her a beating" and she feels bad and apologizes for not allowing it, saying that she "should've trusted him not to hurt her." At another point, she tears off her clothes due to fire ants, and when he sees her undressed he seems to literally lose his mind for a moment, approaching her as if she were a snack. She tells him to look away and that he's scaring her, but he doesn't respond. It's never adequately explained why he seemed to lose it like that, but more importantly, afterwards, they both act as if nothing at all happened.

Great Book

I loved the characters & the end made me cry. Some parts I had to replay to understand as it bounced about a bit, but other than that, I enjoyed the story.

Amazing!!!!!!!!

Well I have been searching for a book just like this one! I literally couldn't stop until the very end which left me sobbing. If you are looking for a book that stacks up to the great works of literature such as The Lord of the Rings and Eragon you will fall head over heals for this gem of a book and luckily there appears to be 4 books in total !!!!! I can hardly wait to start the next book ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
