Publisher's Summary

By working together, Henry Sato and Jason Booth have managed to survive their unwanted trip to Ludus, an experiment planet. However, Delvers LLC has made some enemies...if monsters, bandits, mages, criminals, bounty hunters, and even dark cults can be called, "some enemies."

After their latest battle, the two have been separated and must adapt or die. Henry in particular faces a trial by fire - perhaps literally - that may be impossible for him to overcome.

The two American men will face their greatest challenges yet while working as conscripted Berber Intelligence agents. But even while outnumbered, and most likely outgunned, the former veteran EMT and resilient IT programmer will be armed with modern Earth know-how.

Unknown horrors are descending on Ludus, but Delvers LLC won't go down without a fight.

This is where it starts

I have to say I enjoyed the two earlier books, but it was more of a time filler while doing other things. This third books has changed that though. The increased story world, character growth, hints of the greater galaxy. All of that together has led to a book that I focused on and had trouble doing other things due to my need to focus on every word spoke so that I didn’t miss anything. I would really recommend this book to rpg lovers and it even has a few hints of kingdom building (which are my favorite).

A fun popcorny listen. Excellent narration.

the story was a bit shallow, but ultimately fun. The pop culture references were personally a bit groan inducing, but overall still entertaining. If you want some power fantasy brain candy, this series delivers.

Delver's 3, Rise of Tony

A great listen as always. Henry manages to unkill himself, Tony gets into luck shenanigans and the cult well and truly strikes. A gory and ridiculous romp set to Owl City for whatever reason, 10/10.

Stand out Adventure!

Fantastic book. Great Writing and Jeff Hays truly brings it to life with his delivery. I can not recommend this audible book highly enough.

This should be on the top of every reader and listeners library!

All Potential sacrificed

Basically everything I said in my last review is still true if not extra true. But with one major addition. A luck mechanic was officially introduced. And then worshipped with careless abandon. No more cleverness, skill or anything left. Just everything solved arbitarily through lucky breaks. Sure maybe theoretically its not much different than most stories. but normally the suspension of disbelief lets it be ignored. With the luck mechanic in the book and so relentlessly abused for everything. Not even a well maintained suspension of disbelief protects one.

In top of that it was made clear that the only reason the main characters are so strong is because no one in the whole world, ever thought to experiment with their powers

The only reason I didnt 1 star it was because the one thing the author does well is present the overpowered characters. By focusing on people's reactions, the author nailed that sense of glee. But thats just worth one star if that.

Such a fun series!

I devoured the 3 books in this series. I loved the characters and the crazy premise of Blaise Corvin's world of Ludus. I thought Jeff Hays did a fantastic job on narration too! So can't wait for book 4 (and the spin off series too)!!!!!

A continuation of a terrific story arc

Best narrator for Litrpg currently working, in my view. Keep up the good work Soundbooth.

So, when is book No 4 coming out Blaise ????.

No spoilers, but these two characters are funny, stupid, clever, vulgar and a superb double act, for Terrans that is. (read the books for the reference to Terrans).
