Publisher's summary

In a nightmarish New York City, life is there for the taking... Halfhuman Cal Leandros and his brother Niko are hired by the vampire Seamus to find out who has been following him - until Seamus turns up dead (or unundead). Worse still is the return of Cal’s nightmarish family, the Auphe. The last time Cal and Niko faced them, they were almost wiped out. Now, the Auphe want revenge. But first, they'll destroy everything Cal holds dear.

An abundance of drool worthy action!

Any additional comments?

"Deathwish" proves there is no limit to how far and how dangerous the Leandros brothers can be and will go to not only protect each other but destroy anything and anyone who attempts or threatens their life. This story is psychologically so much darker than the previous books and I have to tell you, I soaked up every word Mr. Andrews performed. I swear he is a narrator from the Gods!!! He is that amazing at drawing you into this horrific world Mr. Thurman has created for us.

This story shows, Niko is not the one you want to cross on any level, especially when it comes to Cal. Man is a beast, when it comes to protecting Cal and that's from anyone or anything. And that goes vise versa!

From the Auphe, to Cherish's selfish and dangerous childish antics, to Promise's misguided fears (she pissed me off in this story. I was even mad at George!!!), to all the bastards trying to kill and or torment the Leandros brothers and my sexy Robin, I couldn't catch a breath! And there was one death I just didn't want to happen and I wasn't expecting it, foolish of me but that death broke my heart a bit. Oh, and the ending, that's what had my heart twisted. Thank goodness for book 5!!!!

Another great one

I loved the perspective change between Niko and Cal it explained a lot about both their personalities. As all ways this book is amazing and action packed. We see the final chapter of the Afea race and man that was cool.

Chapter numbers would be helpful for POV changes

I like each book even more than the one that came before it. You could listen to this one as a stand-alone but why would you want to? MacLeod did an excellent performing the story and it was easy to tell who was speaking. The point of view occasionally changes and since chapter numbers are not included you need to pay attention to the narrator's voice. I prefer to have the chapter numbers spoken out loud.

Good series, great narrator

I started this series on book 2 because I recognized the narrator from the sandman slim novels and I was looking for something good to listen to, so far I'm enjoying it.

The problem with this bookie that it is emo as they come. The story itself is awesome.......only IF he would get to it. I get it. He had a sucky mom and he is half monster. But come on
