Publisher's Summary

Dark Duets is a feast of eerie and mesmerizing horror, thriller, and dark fantasy tales - an ambitious and unique anthology featuring biting and atmospheric original stories from 17 pairs of acclaimed writers, all collaborating together for the first time, including New York Times best-selling authors Charlaine Harris, Rachel Caine, Holly Black, Cassandra Clare, Stuart MacBride, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Jonathan Maberry, and David Liss. Penned by two authors - and in one case, a trio - who have never worked together before, the stories in this enthralling literary chemistry blend diverse elements and rich themes into mesmerizing and highly combustible tales that delve deep into the shadowy, unexplored realms of the imagination. On the night before Halloween, an unwitting young woman falls under the spell of a dangerous man - and into a terrifying multiverse - in "T Rhymer" by Gregory Frost and Jonathan Maberry. Sarah MacLean and Carrie Ryan explore the exquisite agony of eternal love in "She, Doomed Girl". "Welded" by Tom Piccirilli and T. M. Wright offers an unsettling vision of evil that infects and destroys lives.

Mixing the ordinary with the extraordinary, these bold and vivid stories offer a compelling survey of the supernatural world that is sure to frighten and enchant.

seriously dark

Some of these stories are truly disturbing on multiple levels. I had many occasions that I literally shuttered and inwardly cringed.

Great mix of horrifying and fantasy!

Great narrations. Unique story lines. A good mix of fantasy and realism. I wish there were more stories in this collection! My favorite horror anthology so far.

Worth the time and credits.

Interesting and well-chosen tales that kept me engaged throughout. Narrator(s) were quite versatile and capable. Enjoyed this volume and would read another.

Nope

The first story was a bit slow, the second story was just bizarre... and the not the entertaining kind. Turned it off and never went back....

Some good, some bad, some downright disappointing

There are a few good stories here but not enough to carry the whole book. Some reviewers have noted the strength of the first stories versus the back half, I'd echo that. I am tempted toward a 2... in fact, I'm going to change to it. I can't have my time back

This was a O.K. book, it dissapoints me when I read a review and it tells me that this book is scary! Or this book is one you won't be able to put down! and so I purchase to read and oboyo this isn't such a good book AT ALL! So if you want a scary book to read this one MIGHT work for you-you may love what I didn't
