Publisher's Summary

Dante is Chapter Master of one of the noblest but most troubled Chapters of Space Marines in the Imperium: the Blood Angels. From the time of his birth in the rad-scarred wastes of Baal Secundus, he was destined for glory and strife.

From his apotheosis to Scout, to the hive cities of Armageddon and the alien menace of the Cryptus system, Dante has waged war against all the enemies of the Imperium. He has witnessed the divine, and struggled against the darkness within all sons of Sanguinius. Longer lived than any other Chapter Master, this is his chronicle, his great and storied legend.

amazing story

Commander Dante had airways been my favorite 40k character, next to Sanguinious. This story is amazingly written and the themes are beautiful. a story of sacrifice and hardship but also of Hope. I highly recommend it to any fan of Warhammer 40K.

WAR WITHOUT END! "There is hope…yet."

DANTE
review:
When I was a young boy I read "DANTE'S INFERNO".
It gave me nightmares.
It also shot me through with a creative lightning of artistic inspiration. I re-created it's gruesome illustrations on the walls of a volunteer "Halloween Haunted House" while I was in high school, and, thusly I won our high school class First Place in a contest for spookiest room. -
So with such fond memories I picked this book.
Wow.
This is genius work.
This book depicts a horrifically dark galaxy rocked with a war so detailed with strange alien beings and cultures and weapons that my mind fairly quaked with near-madness at contemplating such a insanely frightening future for the human race.

The story is about a young boy, struggling through a terrible life on a war-ravaged world. He goes on a quest to gain a better life… to become a "Blood Angel"; a huge, power-armor wearing, Ultra-Space Marine.
The boy undergoes many dangerous trials. Relentless, the boy is finally transformed into a much larger and stronger "super-warrior" …much like Captain America. However, this sect of Space Marines are more than mere-human. They are also immortal blood drinking vampires. They follow a code of honor to protect the weak from evil. They battle through the war-torn cosmos by order of a god-emperor and a mysterious apparition of unknown supernatural abilities; a real golden angel it seems.

These frightening man-creatures clad in their ancient blood red and golden armor, welding awesome weapons crackling with lightning blades, inhabited by sacred machine-spirits, all in a lush religious/warrior culture that has existed for many thousands of years. They fight war without end to protect the human race from… well… from an bio-mechanical alien menace that is so terrible & evil it endangers the entire universe and it is winning.

I was riveted to the story. I was in awe of the sights revealed to my mind. This is an EPIC tale of a boy who becomes the most powerful Man-monster-warrior to lead a race of super vampire-space marines into battle against a foe so terrible even they have no chance of winning.

However, a golden angel appears to our hero and says "There is hope, yet ."

Fantastic

Burned through it in one weekend. Engaging and gritty. The author sucks you right into the 40k universe and makes you identify with it.
