I wish there was more

Would love a sequel to this audio drama. I really like this cast of characters.

everything I hoped for

This is an audio drama with multiple voice actors and sound effects. It's about a rogue trader crew tasked with a job that goes bad. Think Firefly but more gothic. Kind of like Victorian times but in space and with aliens and monsters. If you know anything about the story universe the twist near the end for what's actually in their cargo is amazing. Some of the sound effects are a little on the cheesy side but never so much so that it pulls you out of the experience. It's a great little space adventure overall. These little audio dramas are awesome.

Deserves a sequel

There is a lot of potential here for a long-running audiobook drama series for this setting! It's surprising that it's been 5 years since this came out and there hasn't been a continuation!

Though short this a masterpiece of 40k

A wonderful performance that captures the essence of warhammer 40k and the interactions of a rouge trader with her crew.

Amazing narration

Fantastic sound effects and narration. However, I do wish it hadn't ended on a cliffhanger.

Great Rogue Trader story

Id recommend this book to those who want to see the 40k universe from a more human perspective. It’s also great for those who liked Firefly, Star Wars, or many other SciFi properties.

This story doesn’t focus on war, but more on mystery. It might not give you a good understanding of the world from fresh eyes, but it’s easy to figure out that Humans of the Imperium dislike Aliens such as the Eldar. And that there a psychic Humans and Humans that are completely mechanical.

If this is your first introduction to the Warhammer 40k world you may need to find a book or audio drama that’s better at describing it. But if you are a seasoned 40k enthusiast you’ll catch subtle clues and be intrigued by where the story goes.

I hope this story gets a sequel. Also the cast did a marvelous job. No one sounded out of place or too much the same as one another.

A Great jaunt in the least explored side of 40k

The civilian life. Not that a rogue trader is your casual civilian by any account but arguably one of the more interesting non-heroic players that has *ALMOST* carte blanche to seek fortune and glory, in the name of the emperor of course.

This audio drama as Black Library is want to call it, is very well acted. The characters and story are middle of the road for anyone familiar with the tropes of the Warhammer 40k universe they don't surprise but they do deliver.

Clocking in at a hair over one hour you can knock this story out during errands. It's time well spent.

Captures the essence of Warhammer

What an incredible trip. There's no third person narration in this edge-of-your-seat adventure, only tense dialogue, startled exclamations, and distinctive ~zap~ of las weaponry - among other, more alien and terrible sounds. While this may be a disorienting listening experience for someone new to the universe and the tensions that exist within its societies, for familiar fans and veterans of the lore, this will be an astoundingly fun trip that leaves you hungry for more.

Someone read from a wiki and didn’t bother with the lore

The story is broken and all over the place. I’m guessing this is the first time the author has written in the 40k universe so I’m going to give him a pass and say this is why you have editors. He confuses navigators and psycors work. The general idea he put forward is workable but needs to have someone help him keep things straight and tell him how the 40k migufins work.
If the author reads this most of the high presets of mars have no genitalia and still refer to them selves by their preasension gender leave your political life out of 40k.
