Dome 17 is the only safe place left on a dead Earth. Life in Dome 17 takes a dramatic turn after some adventurers return from evaluating other domes. The struggling remnant of humanity cannot remain safe in the dome much longer. The question is where to go and how to get there? Seven vast colony ships were launched 100 years ago, but can one of them be located? Will it offer a chance to survive?
In this final book of the Colony Ship Conestoga series, the crippled ship flees away from the dying planet Zalia. However, the greatest threat the survivors have ever faced is pursuing them. Will the Apex Predators catch them? The survivors are hoping to escape, but the ship is not working well, machinery is failing, and something strange has kidnapped some of the children. They plan to reach an anomaly in space, but are unsure what will happen if and when they reach it.
The Confederation has fought three wars against the forces of the totalitarian Union. Three generations of its warriors have gone off to war, held the line against the larger, more powerful enemy. Now the fourth conflict is imminent, and the Confederation's navy is on alert, positioned behind the frontier, waiting for the attack it knows is coming.
The Colony Ship Vanguard was one of seven colony ships launched from a damaged Earth in a desperate plan to carry human settlers to Earth equivalent worlds. The voyages would take generations, and the people on board, as well as the flora and fauna in huge biological habitats had to be stable. But something happened on the way. Now, over one hundred years later, Earth is all but dead. People survive only in Dome 17.
Janae and Ken are part of the remnant of humanity which lives in Dome 17, surrounded by the radioactive, toxic wasteland of a dead Earth. The leadership of the dome has sent out adventurers to explore the other domes, but all they have found are failed domes, and deadly ruins. Some of those adventurers have self-terminated upon return from those grueling missions. Only Dome 17 survives, but now, Dome 17 is facing its own failure. Looking to history, they come up with a plan to try to find the seven lost generational colony ships which left Earth a century before.
The Colony ship Marathon left a dying Earth on a generation's long voyage to another planet. Inside its giant biomes were people who would spend their entire lives during that flight. They knew that their descendants would be the people who would arrive at the destination world. During the long journey, something went wrong. Something else was on the Marathon. This adventure chronicles the life of one habitat dweller named Kalju, as he becomes aware of his role in what is taking place.

Michael and Jamie live in Dome 17. The last place safe for humans, or any life, on a dying Earth. They are adventurers who have explored other domes, but everywhere else is dead. Will Dome 17 meet the same fate? The committee has a risky plan to try out unproven technologies: a faster than light scout ship, and teleportation. Both technologies have severe limits. Only two people can be carried aboard those FTL scout ships for a one way journey.
A fighter pilot on a mission to reunite with her daughter. A cyborg soldier on a quest to regain his humanity. Mortal enemies during the war, they must now work together to salvage a 70-year-old freighter and navigate the gauntlet of pirates, scavengers, mercenaries, and other pitfalls that stand in their way after the fall of the largest empire mankind has ever known.
When Rosalen Maldonado tinkers with the derelict freighter, she's just hoping to prove she deserves a scholarship to University. She certainly doesn't count on waking the ship's damaged AI or having three stowaways, Micah Rotherwood and brothers Jem and Barre Durbin, along for the ride.
A world recovering from a devastating plague. A brutal enemy threatening invasion. A young man seeking to escape the shadow of his father. A ship manned by a crew of fresh academy graduates. A top-secret experimental propulsion system. A questionable alliance with a mysterious green-eyed woman. What destiny has in store for the crew of the UES Aurora is far greater than any of them could ever imagine. And this is only the beginning....
Ten years ago the Sythians invaded the galaxy with one goal: to wipe out the human race. Now the survivors are hiding in the last human sector of the galaxy: Dark Space--once a place of exile for criminals, now the last refuge of mankind.
The Galactic Empire is dying and chaos and anarchy are breaking out everywhere. After a disastrous mission against terrorists on Earth itself, Captain Edward Stalker of the Terran Marine Corps makes the mistake of speaking truth to power, telling one of the most powerful men in the Empire a few home truths. As a result, Captain Stalker and his men are unceremoniously exiled to Avalon, a world right on the Rim of the Empire. It should have been an easy posting...
This audiobook has two main characters, a male and a female, both adults. Major secondary characters are a 17-year-old female and numerous artificial intelligence systems.

In this volume, book six of the Colony Ship Conestoga series, conflict erupts in a myriad of places and ways.
Jerome and Cammarry, the adventurers from Earth, are still trying to piece together what all has happened to the Colony Ship Conestoga.
The slave revolt in Habitat Alpha is continuing. The various systems of the ship are broken, half-working, or just frustratingly difficult to get operational. The enigmatic inhabitants of the alien world, Zalia, are potential threats, and more mysteries than ever are surrounding all attempts to make things work.
But sometimes the deepest and most painful conflicts are not physical. Conflict can take other forms as well; some will not survive the conflicts on the Conestoga.
Another book in the series and it is as good as all the previous ones. Book 6 doesn't disappoint lots of action and many questions that were raised in the previous books are answered (not all).
Can't wait for book 7.
Narration is clear and strong.
I received a copy of this audio book at my request and voluntarily leave this review.

I am a huge fan of John Thornton's books, but this is the last one I am going to waste my money on, not because the story isn't good. The narrator's are terrible! I've listened to all of the books in this series up to this one and, with the exception of Lauren Holladay (books three and four), the readers sound amateurish, there is noise in the audio and sentences repeated. I would suggest that the publishers find performers who are actual professionals. As much as I like Mr. Thornton's work, he has lost me because of his narrators. I'm a member of a Sci Fi audio book group (we suggest good Sci Fi to read or listen to). I will be warning them not to waste their money or credit on this series unless it's only for book 3 or 4... which won't make much sense if they don't hear the whole series. It's important for people listening with ear buds that there isn't crackling noise and irritating voices.
It's a shame that such a good writer doesn't seem to care what his audio books sound like.
