OMG the voice for John Claude is terrible
Great story with lots of action. Good strong lead with interesting support characters. The narrator is not great with men's voices but certainly passable. However, she really blows it with John Claude. I hope there is an improvement as the series continues because the voice she uses for him is just squirrelly, certainly not romantic.

Good story but bad heroine
The story is good and entertaining but I have one personal complaint. This is my third Anita Blake book and I still really don't like Anita! I'm all for "heroines and girl power" but she just comes across as a judgmental, narrow minded bitch that constantly uses bad puns! I will continue the next story of corse. Hopefully things will change and I will come to like her at least a little. I do enjoy the other characters though.

fast paced, dark, twisting storyline
This is the best of the audio books releases for the earlier novels and the story is one that once you start it you won't want to stop. Who is the bad guy? Who the good? What is going on? Pick this novel for a head dive into a story that keeps you frantically interested up to the last words.

Awesome book!
This book is engaging and fun. The reader keeps you on the edge of your seat during the heightened points and hopes you get in to the mindset of the characters. Anita is a great character who holds a strong female role throughout the story. Highly recommended
