Set across one fateful evening, these four original novellas explore the deception and danger of the lavish casino city.

An honest salesman meets a career criminal as a dream vacation turns into the worst nightmare imaginable in a story by Saladin Ahmed.

Dreams and schemes collide when a deal over a priceless bottle of wine becomes a struggle for survival, as told by Mira Grant.

Pleasantly Surprised

This book is comprised of 4 Short stories about activities on Canto Bight. This not your typical Star Wars novel. That said, I found the characters very likable and the stories were thoughtful and interesting. There was not much time for character and plot development, but a good enough job was done.

worth the time

These stories make Canto Bight an interesting place. They deal with different characters but some of the locations overlap a little bit and it all adds up to give a lot of character to Canto Bight. There is one story in particular where the protagonist is a non-human species and it is one of the best most original stories I've heard in awhile, even outside of Star Wars. For me it made Canto Bight feel like it's own distinct world rather than a Mos Eisley knockoff. There are cool species, distinct interesting characters, compelling story-lines, and more great performances from the narrators. As with any anthology some of the stories are better than others but all of them were worthwhile in some way. It's worth the time to check out.

Surprisingly wonderful.

I started this book, but abandoned it early on. I came back when I was between books. I so glad I did. This book captures the spirit of Star Wars with out a single lightsaber or battle. I can’t recommend it enough.

Slow at first better towards end.

The first two stories were slow and I put this book off to the side for a while. The third story was better and I really enjoyed the 4th story.

great read

This book helped me get a grasp on how this planet functioned as a whole and it would be great if we saw more like this.

fun, but no more significance

Absolutely 0 lore significance, but all four stories were immensely fun and engaging throughout. The performances were of the usual star wars audio book quality.

Didn't have to be Star Wars

This collection could have stood without being part of the Star Wars universe. In fact, some of the stories seemed as though the Star Wars parts were forced. However the stories were fun and as you begin seeing other background characters you really begin to feel you know Canto Bight.

In a separate note, it was fun to try and spot characters from the book during the casino scenes in Episode VIII.

A fantastic Primer on the new Star Wars planet

Amazing short stories in the Star Wars equivalent of Las Vegas! Im generally skeptical of short stories and expected to be disappointed, but was incredibly surprised by how much heart these 4 tales had and how much fun they were to listen to. They help provide a snapshot into the lives of people who visit, work, and live in Canto Bight in an incredibly expressive, vibrant way. if you are a Star Wars fan getting ready to see The Last Jedi, this is a must read!

Completely oddball and thoroughly entertaining

This was a very strange—in a fantastic way—collection of Star Wars stories. In short, Canto Bight is the Vegas equivalent in the Star Wars universe. And these stories could easily be dropped into Vegas or any other world, and they’d still be great. Most of them involve some sort of heist. There’s a clear Ocean’s Eleven homage that is confusing at times but, let’s be honest, so was Ocean’s Eleven until th
