Publisher's summary

With the silver murders solved and her training as a mage underway, Sunaya figured her life would get easier. But between the Chief Mage's packed schedule and the grunt work demanded of her as an apprentice mage, magic lessons are few and far between. Worse, her apprenticeship leaves little time for her job as an Enforcer, and without bounties Sunaya's money pouch is drying up - fast.

Even so, when Shiftertown Inspector Boon Lakin asks for Sunaya's help digging deeper into the murder of a fellow Enforcer, Sunaya has no trouble making room in her life to help him. The trail leads them to a series of crimes victimizing shifters for the entertainment of vicious humans. Sunaya and her friends race to identify the perpetrators and free the survivors, and the stakes are heightened when she discovers one of the victims has a connection to her. But if Sunaya is not careful, she may end up a very dead shifter herself.

Magic, Mystery and Shifters

I read the first book in series and decided to try the audio version of the 2nd. Glad I did. Laurel Schroeder was very good and really enhanced the book. I enjoyed this book as much as the first. Though Sunaya seemed more hot-headed than snarky here. The initial mystery was solved but the book ended in a huge cliff-hanger. A plot device that many times make me less tempted to pick up the next book. I do like the characters and this world the author has created so I will get book 3 if it has the same narrator.

This "portion" was also good

The story is good, but I'd like to address a trend I see going on in this Audible/Kindle/Amazon world. Have you noticed how we aren't being sold books. We are being sold portions of books. This second portion did not even attempt to end with a slight inference of a sequel. It ended with one of the main characters coming up missing on the last page. So we pay full price for portions of a full story. Something not right about that... or at least not truthful. Now we have to wait until portion three comes out, otherwise known as Book 3...

Super exciting!

If you could sum up Bound by Magic in three words, what would they be?

Magic, suspense, fun!

What does Laurel Schroeder bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Perfect narration for this series!

Any additional comments?

Bound by Magic (The Baine Chronicles #2) by Jasmine Walt continues this awesome series. In this book, shifters are going missing. She is also starting her apprenticeship with the Chef Mage. She also comes close to death, again. It gets very exciting....lots of fun, suspense filled, wonderful read!

eh

So this series has a lot of potential but no follow through. In book one the story seems to be leading to a really cool concept of the head mange and the wolf being the same person somehow or related. Seems like the author just couldn't pull it off. the main character is a bit off. book 1 had a stong emphasis on her going into heat and little mention of it here.

Cliffhanger Uughhhh!

Sunaya is once again stirring things up in the mage world. Shifters are kidnapped and forced into a gladiator life. Corruption is the result and a slide of the hands is the game. A new love interest enters the scene making for a heated few moments. I had hoped for further supporting character development in this story but it was not to be. The story ends on a major cliffhanger.

Trouble, Amazing and funny.

What other book might you compare Bound by Magic to and why?

None as i don't think i can come up with another story.

What about Laurel Schroeder’s performance did you like?

She has done an amazing job with bringing new and different voices to each character and i would like to see her continue this series.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Beware of Bound by Magic, an appealing world with magic, mayhem, love and loads more. Come into this world and be amazed by Sunaya Baine.

Bound by Magic!

Here we find our favorite characters picking up where we left off from book one. Sunyana is learning more about her magic and working at the mages guild while trying to deal with her emotions with the chief mage. Than she meets another shifter that comes to her with a new case that is about one of her own in the enforcers guild learning deeper on the silver murders and the people behind it. Amazing story looking forward to volume three.
