Publisher's summary

In a world where "witches, vampires, werewolves, and shape-shifters live beside ordinary people" ( Booklist), it takes a very unusual woman to call it home. By day, Mercy Thompson is a car mechanic in Eastern Washington. By night, she explores her preternatural side. As a shape-shifter with some unusual talents, Mercy's found herself maintaining a tenuous harmony between the human and the not-so- human on more than one occasion. This time she may get more than she bargained for.

Critic reviews

“The preternatural culture of vampire seethes and wolf pack politics is deeply intriguing. Briggs provides plenty of detail about Mercy's complex world.” (Publishers Weekly)

“Mercy is not just another cookie-cutter tough-chick urban fantasy heroine; she's got a lot of style and substance and an intriguing back-story. Series fans will appreciate the resolution of some ongoing plot lines, and the romantic tension is strong.” (Library Journal)

I was hooked

If you could sum up Bone Crossed in three words, what would they be?

I love how Mercy thinks!

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

I like how I can hear each personality and emotion through her voice. It doesn't feel like I'm being read to.

I've read it 3 times

characters are well done, story keeps you intrest and well written. love the fact that the love story does not become the focus, and that it leaves out the bedroom details. that just gets in the way of a good story.

Yet another awesome Mercy book.

Patricia Briggs keeps you entertained and guessing as to what's going to happen next and how Mercy's going to get herself out of it.

Reminds me of Kim Harrison's Hollows

Love the Narrator. She's how I found this series. Liking the series more each book as the characters and the relationships develop and evolve. Plots are good and there is always a new piece of the universe introduced in each book to keep it fresh.

Great continuation for the series!

I was a little worried when I scanned the reviews for this one. A lot of people seemed to say tl skip this one, but I disagree. I think there is a lot of character growth in this one, and Mercy explores her own PTSD after the previous book and opens up more to Adam. I liked the twists and turns. If you like the previous installments, don't miss out on this one.
