Entertaining

Enjoyed this a lot . Not merely well written for sci fi but well written for any genre.

Its a good story

I listened to the first book in the series and enjoyed it. I was pleased to find the 2nd ready so quick. We may have had an ending to book 2 that will lead to a book 3. I found the characters a bit lacking though, the lead character Adam didn't seem very mature. That may have been the way the narrator made them sound. He's good but I thought he was the wrong person to read this, his voice lacked the gravity (pun not intended but good!) I kept thinking he was a kindly aunt, the story needed a stronger voice, in my opinion.
Do I recommend it, yes, I love reading about Mars and the story was very good especially the end of the 2nd book. I will say no more that might give anything away.
I appreciated the fact that there was no swearing or sexual situations.

Decent Listen for Driving

I read/listened to both Red Hope and Blue Hope and was entertained. Good story and interesting characters.
I'm bothered by a few plot/science flaws but i recognize that I am an overly critical audience.
The first 6-7 chapters of Blue Hope seem to be a retelling of Red Hope. makes it readable as stand-alone, but perhaps a bit tiresome for those continuing from the first book.

Blue Hope

Really enjoyed this serirs, esp. the audiobook!. Cancer is a scary word no one wants to hear pronounced, yet great strides are being made in research.

Unputdownable!

This story takes you back from the original trip to Mars and so much more! So many plausible twists and turns and surprises! I highly recommend this book! The narrator also gave a great performance!

Russian and French characters all sound German!

I haven't finished the entire book yet but I don't think it's as good as Red Hope - while I wished Red Hope was a little longer and continued the story, I feel like the author could have mashed Blue Hope on to the end of the first book and just had one AMAZING book. Instead, you end up with two decent books and the second one rehashes so much from the first that you could absolutely read Blue Hope without ever touching red and you'd have 90% of the story.

Also, Bob Reed is a good voice actor but damn if it isn't distracting when the two primary Russian characters AND a French character later on ALL SOUND GERMAN. The pronunciation of certain consonants is even identical and reminiscent of American-German humor....
