Publisher's Summary

Elite soldier turned dragon hunter.

Cursed by a blind witch in a remote corner of Waristan, Special Ops Captain Jason Wolfe finds himself transforming into a creature of local legend, a lupine referred to in fearful whispers as Blue Wolf.

Faster, stronger, and more lethal, he’s the perfect soldier - but not for the US military. To break the curse, Jason must join a war between ancient tribal foes: blue werewolves and the formidable White Dragon.

In a battle spanning from the peaks of Central Asia to the valleys of Manhattan, and with the help of a bookish wizard named Prof Croft, Jason will push himself to the breaking point. Because with the curse now spreading to his mind, he’s running out of time - and the stakes couldn’t be higher:

Win and he returns home to his fiancé, his family, and a future.

Lose and he dies a bloodthirsty beast....

Overview sells itself short

I try to keep an open mind. i literally listen to all genres. I had the opportunity to get an advanced copy, but i was very skeptical from the description. This book is a very well written, fast-paced, action driven story about an advanced military squad that has to cope with some very unconventional repercussions. The book-cover summary makes it sounds pretty ridiculous, but the book reads more like a Neil Gaiman novel. I hesitate to describe it more as i don't want to spoil the fun.

I have to admit i was very pleased and i can't wait for the next installments!

So hard to find a honest good werewolf book! Nice!

Never thought I'd be giving such a high review. Narration and everything was beautiful, energetic, complex, composed, concise, etc. skilled voice actor. The story well just down right amazing. Very well crafted detailed story, no obvious cliches that make ya groan in disgust. Often left me at the edge of my seat rooting for this or that. Several times humor caught me totally by surprise making me laugh and even surprising me. The depth and believability to the story is literally Rock solid. No magical see through paper characters here. Kudos! Thank you so much for the wonderful story!

Please get more of theese up here im dying for more like this one!

Special forces, werewolves and dragons oh my!

Special forces facing off against terrorists. They are tasked with securing a safe route, partnered with some mercenaries to get the job done. Something goes horribly wrong, the head of the unit is cursed/blessed? With the power of a guardian werewolf. Tasked with hunting down a dragon to protect his new people. Great start to a great supernatural series with a lot of promise. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

As enjoyable as the Prof Croft series

This series is set in the same world as the authors other series. If you enjoyed the other series, you'll likely enjoy this one too. If you haven't read/listened to the other one there's nothing stopping you from starting with this one - I don't feel that you'd have an incomplete understanding of what's going on or have any spoilers from starting here. If anything it'd likely make you interested in the other series.

The voice acting is well done. Voices are distinct and pleasant - you can tell who's talking even without it being explicitly stated.

I look forward to this series continuing.

A must read!!!!!

Another WOW from Magnarella! He specializes in urban fantasy, but this is set in a fictional Stan not far from Afghanistan and the Mujahideen, and the hero is American Special Ops team 5 assisted (?) by mercenaries with an odd bent. Lots of twists, action, and testosterone, with an unbeatable imagination combine to make a riveting read! The publisher's blurb gives hints and there is no need for spoilers. If you enjoyed Prof Croft, you'll be glad that he shows up for a while in this.
I love Magnarella's writing, so I signed up for the ARC team, especially since I don't want to wait for the audiobook and this way I can listen to the robot at least.

Woohoo! I have won the audio and I think it's great! James Patrick Cronin, who is the narrator for the Prof Croft series, aces THIS testosterone fest as well!

Excellent

Any additional comments?

admittedly I do really enjoy fantasy books, but this book was seriously way better than expected. Expected a heavy serving of cheese, instead got an exciting, well written engaging story that left me wanting more. ordering the sequel for sure

The Scent of a Wolfman

Looks like Brad Magnarella is on the scent of another captivating character to entice me into spending more time in the same reader friendly universe as Prof Croft!

The Jason Wolf has been drafted from one military into a foreign (out of this universe) command to tackle local problems on his commander's behalf. And then, things get complicated.

I highly recommend this Audible book! Between author Brad Magnarella and the voice talent of James Cronin, this is a non-stop action yarn!

And, for those Prof Croft fans like myself, we get a bit of nail biting team work with the Blue Wolf.

Do yourself a favour and read this book!
