Publisher's summary

With a thriving parahuman accounting practice, a steady relationship, and a circle of trusted friends, Fred's undead life has become more enjoyable than his normal one ever was. Unfortunately it also seems that he's no longer the only vampire to appreciate the up-and-coming city of Winslow, Colorado. A new clan of vampires is moving in, and they aren't well known for tolerating outsiders in their territory.

Now Fred must cope with the growing presence - and threat - of other vampires even as he struggles to keep up with his business' demands and make time for his friends. Between hidden parahuman towns, crazed vampire hunters, quarreling mages, and the world's least subtle spy, it will take all of Fred's wiles just to keep his head above water. And as the new clan sinks their fangs deeper and deeper into his city, the undead accountant is faced with a choice between two equally unappealing options: flee his home or stand against an entire clan of fellow vampires.

!Love Fred. Need more

I still enjoy this series. You should read this in order to appreciate the relationships. Loyalty and Friendship are the themes of this series and theme in this book. There is some action, I mean there are vampires and assorted other paranormals. In books one and two you will can get a demonstration of the various powers. This book will not give you that exposure. As Fred goes around returning clients’ tax documents you get glimpses into paranormal action/powers for different species.

There are rules and processes to vampires moving into new territory. Unfortunately, his friends cannot do much to help with his dilemma. If you have followed the series, you know that Fred will not ask his friends to put themselves in a compromising position.
The real conflict is, should Fred stay in Winslow where everyone he has come to know and love reside or will he have to run? Fred is not a physically active person. He prefers to solve problems amicably. Fred is an oddity. Vampires rule by imitation. If you are familiar with the series you know it is engrossing to watch Fred be Fred. I enjoyed this book. As a matter of fact, I am going to reread book two. I missed a character’s/entity’s story somewhere down the line. This is an easy enjoyable read, which does not disappoint.

Enjoyable

A little less redundant than books 1 and 2 I was happy to continue listening to this series as I've grown fond of Fred and his little band of misfits.

Third Story, Best Story - But Read In Sequence

Outstanding. The best of the first three in the series. Narrator is amazing with voicing different characters. Once you hear a character, you know immediately which one without the author identifying. The reader/narrator is that good! He is very consistent voicing each personality. Loved this because Fred is so endearing in this story as all his relationships in the para-world come together.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book tremendously. The performance was great and brought the characters to life. This trilogy got better with each book and this was the best.

Great Book!

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't want to stop listening. It made stopping the audio annoying because I didn't want the story to stop. I kept thinking about it between listening sessions and I can't wait to get the next book. I'm getting it tonight. ;-)

Another Excellent Fred the Vampire Accountant

Author Drew Hayes makes accounting in the afterlife fun and exciting. This is one story collection you should listen to. Well, first listen two the two preceding books first.
Reader Kirby Heyborne's voice is perfect for Fred and the gang, and his reading is near flawless.
I highly recommend this story.

Best in seried so far

Drew Hayes is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors along side Brandon Sanderson. While superpowered is his best series, this is a fun one with lots of charm.

Narrator is excellent and improves book.
