Publisher's Summary

Madeline knew her life was strange, and not just because she could sense the emotions of others. Having people die by your hand on two separate occasions can make a girl question her very existence. Still, she never thought she'd wake up in a world straight out of Norse myth. A world where corpses reanimate all on their own, and she's supposed to be their executioner.

A normal person would run screaming into the night, but there's something about dark and alluring Alaric that's giving Madeline pause, and it's not the fact that he turns a little feline from time to time.

    "Needed to be edited"

The story wasn't bad. It could have used more description and I think she was too okay with being taken. I feel like she should have freaked out a little more. But the idea behind it all was good. The narrator was not my fav. Her voices of different characters ran together and I feel like the editing was horrible. But I really liked the idea in the plot.

    "Book 1 was enough"

During the first couple chapters, I had a hard time telling if it was the writing I didn't care for, or the narrator. Halfway through the book I decided it was both aspects.

    "warning aweful editing"

The story its self was fine. However, the performance was aweful. The had a hard time with saying s, and could not pronounce Spokane correctly. it is Spo-can, not Spo-cane. plus the edditing repeates lines. loved the story hated everything eles.

    "It's OK"

Writing this review because of the editing. Several repeated lines and pauses. I found it distracting.

"I'll be waiting for the next book in this series"

Narration and story were good, editing not so much. There were overlong pauses and repeated sentences throughout the story. I really should have taken off a star for it but the story was really good and I haven't heard a good new plot twist in a while.

    "Interesting premise"

I enjoyed the story and will probably purchase the next instalment but not if it has the same narrator the double backs on sentences and mispronounced words were very distracting
