Death is the easy way out.
Still clinging rabidly to power, the Elites spin lies of prejudice and hatred, stoking the flames of war.
The sole driving force toward peace, Mira, had sacrificed everything. But her strength alone was not enough.
It will take the strength of many to finish what she started. As the world lurches toward war, each party has much to lose. Human. Vampire. Otherkin. The only outcomes are peace or death.
We come to the end of the entertaining and action filled six book Chronicles of the Uprising series written by K.A. Salidas and narrated by Kerri McCann.
At the end of the last book, Retribution, Stryker, Justine and Mitchell rescued Mira from the Lone Star region gladiator arena after she killed the magistrate, but will she live and if she lives will she be able to recover from the torture she endured? What is the fate for the rest of the human, vampire, shifter and otherkin populations? Will all be revealed in this book?
Annihilation is filled with lots of action and some internal strife. It is also filled with love and trust. In addition we get a hint of what else George was up to during his patron liaisons. I hear there is a possibility for a spin-off book that might provide more information on George and Justine.
I am a bit bummed not to find out why the regent and his cronies always smelled horrible. Maybe that will be covered in a spin-off book as well. This did not take away from the story it was just something I noticed in the other books.
Thank you K.A. Salidas for this wonderful series set in a post-apocalyptic world of complex characters. It was very enlightening to see the story through the eyes of different characters throughout the series. Many thanks also to the narration, voices, and personalities that Kerri McCann provided. Both the story and the narration worked well together to bring us the complete tale.
