Publisher's summary

It's not easy being one of the last living dragon shifters in London.

Two years ago, when the faeries attacked the mortal realm, all supernaturals were dragged into the open. Unfortunately for dragon shifters like Ember and her sister, dragons are still hunted by humans and supernaturals alike. Keeping a low profile is difficult with monsters roaming the streets, but Ember and her band of rogue shifters have managed to survive.

Until their oldest enemy, the supernatural-hunting Orion League, emerges from the shadows and captures Ember's sister.

To get her back, Ember is prepared to walk into the depths of London's magical underworld, even if it means kidnapping a lethal ex-hunter who'd like nothing better than to add her name to his kill list. His inside knowledge of the League is the key to saving her sister, but with their allies turning on them, Ember must choose who to trust or meet the same end as the other dragon shifters.

Formulaic

I couldn't finish it. The characters are immature and one dimensional. The dialog is contrived and flat. The story is predictable and formulaic. I can't recommend this book to anyone.

Good story but bad choice of Narrator

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A different narrator and following what the kindle/paperback actually has in it. There are times that sentences, completed sentence are missing and it isn't just a word or two its like two to three long sentences. It was getting me all confuse when i was reading it.Ember's voice was whiny to me Becks was okay same with Will. Cori, from what i heard was boring as well. Meanwhile Astor's voice was like he had a nasal cold that screwed with his voice.

What did you like best about this story?

The paranormal world.

What didn’t you like about Henrietta Meire’s performance?

Her voice on the characters were dull, whiny or boring and or having someone with a nasal cold.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The plot line saved it.

Any additional comments?

Kirsten Potter would have been a better narrator for this novel and the next two as well.
