Publisher's summary

For Kat Dubois, death is only the beginning....

Kat is on a mission, and the fate of the universe depends on whether or not she succeeds. She must journey into the heart of the underworld and track down Isfet before time runs out. Before the bonding withdrawals claim her bond-mate’s life and her ticket out of the afterlife vanishes.

Before the Mother of All attacks.

For once, luck is on Kat’s side. Some of her closest friends and most trusted allies have her back, even in the hereafter. The mission should be a breeze. But it doesn’t take Kat long to realize that the underworld is far more dangerous than she ever could have imagined....

Great series

There’s a little bite of everything. Not much humor as I would like but enough. Also, a good amount of romance! Not over done at all. I was worried this was going to be a cliff hanger but glad it wasn’t!

I loved Kat when I read the Echo Trilogy & I am so excited that she has her own series. I will say, I strongly suggest reading the Echo Trilogy before starting this series. It will give you some great backstory before diving into this own.

this is definitely an epic conclusion to Kay’s series. She has been through so much & has sacrificed in order to even have a slight chance to save her world.

I am so sad that we are done with this world

a mythological masterpiece

I have read the echo trilogy and now all 6 of the kat Dubois chronicles. I am truly sad there are no more. I don't even know what books to look for now because these were so so good. Action packed thriller I highly recommend these books and this author.

Everyone's a critic, right?

I really wanted to love this book and the last one, but I can't say that I did. The last two books could've easily been combined into one longer novel. There's too many times that are heroine, Kitty Kat, completely unable to learn from all the mistakes she's previously made and dives headlong into situations she cannot handle. At this point in a series, especially at the conclusion, there should be significant character growth and understanding of who she is and what she can do. Surprises are great, but there are too many and they're too erratic. I really wanted to feel the love that she had for Nick, but all I could feel was his devotion to her and her quest however harebrained it seemed. I was happy to get to the final part where things were resolved, but it was tedious and I found myself skipping chapters because I could not listen to anymore capture and torture sequences. The narrator was fantastic, I have not listened to the other series where these characters are developed but I did like everyone, including Kat, despite these last two books being drawn out in torturously too long to the ending, which I am very grateful was good.

The series was easy to get caught up in

Though, the last two books seemed rushed and could have been more in-depth had Lindsey Fairleigh had wished, aside from that I enjoyed the series.
