Publisher's summary

Michelle has been figuring out what her life is like now that the demon has been killed, and Sylvia and Varro are dead. Even the clans of witches trying to attract her to their way of life have backed off and given her a chance to grieve. Her relationship with Elron is stronger than ever, but there are things left unsaid.

On the way to her parents' wedding, the delicate calm she’d been living in is broken. Witches are out for her blood, her family is caught in the crossfire, and friendships are threatened. Work doesn’t let up either, and she partners up with Elron to deal with magic gone wild. Michelle finds that her problems are larger than one clan of witches, and is forced to choose between the people she holds dear and the way of life she loves.

This is the fourth book in a series, following A Witch's Trial. It is a standalone novel, however, your experience will be greatly enhanced if you've heard the previous books.

A refreshing and highly entertaining read!

Any additional comments?

A Witch's Concern by N.E. Conneely is a refreshing and highly entertaining read, revolving around a young witch and her adventures.

I loved this book; the plot was unique, the characters and their conflicts felt real and the sub-plots were very interesting. I enjoyed listening to the story from start till the end, and even though this is the 4th book in A With's Path series, I didn't have any trouble getting into it. So this book can safely be read as a stand alone as well, but I am considering reading all the previous parts before going for the next ones.

The characterization was good, if not brilliant, and even though I wasn't able to connect to the main lead, Michelle, in a very strong way, I liked her quite a lot and that was enough for me to read about her and her adventures (or misadventures.) Elron's character felt a bit shaky initially but by the end of the book, he proved to be a strong male lead.

The narration was good for the most part. It took me some time to get into Elron's (Jeff Hays) narration, though I did love the female lead's narration a lot! Lauri's voice and expressions were really good and made listening to this audiobook a very pleasant experience.

I'd recommend this book to all the paranormal and supernatural lovers, along with those who love reading about witches, elves and magic.

A great addition to a wonderful series

I feel the need to start this book review by saying that all of these books are wonderful, adventurous, yet charming and I would not be a good reviewer if I did not say consider going back and listen to the first 3 books in this series before this one. Extend the enjoyment.

This book has less focus on Michelle’s police work but that doesn’t mean that there is one iota less adventure. N.E. Conneely has packed this story with surprises galore. This wonderful book is an adventure from start to finish.

The narration by Jeff Hays and Laurie Catherine Winkel is wonderfully expressive and the characters that they play throughout this book are believable and so well represented. They put the perfect amount of emotion and personality into the characterization. The sound quality is outstanding and the volume level is consistent throughout.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Jeff Hays. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

I enjoyed the first 3, this is better.

Jeff Hays did all the parts on the first 3 books. I think Laurie Winkel upped the game this time, having them both read gave depth to the story. N. E. Conneely gave us a wonderful world of magic, elves, and witches. I like the odd couple a plucky young witch and the world worn elf partner. A heck of a magic brawl / witch clan meeting is quite the show. All of these audio books are a treat.

Ohh My good, this Book was bad

If I hear again that they are preparing Tea, I'm going to kill my self. What is it with this author and food? so much talk about eating this and drinking that.
And the story line was very slim.
And lastly, why this whining and self sorry about everything? In the previous book she felt sooo sorry and cried because she hade to kill her new boyfriends ex (from 200 years ago). But she still continue with this self pitty in this book. Why??? Usch a waste of paper ( or bites in this case )

Yes for two narrators!

So I was super excited to get to the next in the series by Conneely. I enjoyed the past cozy mystery witch books and wanted to continue with this story! This was a good book, although there isn’t much of a mystery here. I think Conneely did well with this storyline of grandmother trying to force Michele to join something she has no desire to do. It was interesting to see how “good intentions” can turn horrible and create so much havoc. I liked this one even though there wasn’t really a mystery here, it was exciting and suspenseful with the clan storyline! I give it a 4.5/5 stars.

With this book we get two narrators! Which is awesome. I loved that we get a female voice for Michele finally. And Laurie does such a good job. She has a good tone and I like what she does for each character in the story. Jeff is a familiar voice and I still like what he does, but I am happy to have another narrator to complement his tone and inflection. I hope they continue working together! I give the narration a 5/5 stars!

Amazing right from the start!

Any additional comments?

I loved the first set of audiobooks in this series and this one doesn't disappoint at all! This audiobook starts with a bang with Michelle's kidnapping and stays intense throughout the whole novel.

Michelle is an independent, strong witch who feels no alliance to any clan and wants to keep it that way. Her Grandmother feels differently. I love that we were able to learn quite a bit more about her family history and the line of strong female witches in her family. Her Grandmother does not want to see this line end and goes to extreme measures to get Michelle to consent to her wishes, almost shocking at times!

I have always loved Michelle's character throughout the first set of books and in this book she still remains my favourite. She has such a kind heart and just wants to do what is right and help others but she just can't get a break. I loved that the focus of this book is her - no extra big case, just Michelle. Her character deserves it, she is just one of those individuals that gives of herself with no expectation of something in return. Her relationship with Elron is blossoming (yay!), they both deserve a loving relationship and not to mention some time to work on it.

The narration in this audiobook is excellent and adds to the drama and flair of the writing. I couldn't stop listening as I just wanted to hear what was going to happen next with her. The plot is fantastic and keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is by far my favourite book in this amazing series. This series constantly leaves you guessing on who or what will show up and happen and leaves you wanting more.

My favorite in the series so far

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Jeff Hays. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

A Witch’s Concern is the fourth book in Witch for Hire series. I’ve enjoyed all of the books in the series but A Witch’s Concern is my favorite so far.

Michelle continues to help police departments contain supernatural problems. She’s also come across a couple on her own, such as a biting teacup. As more and more things occur wherever she is, she realizes that some of it may be because of her grandmother who is insistent that Michelle join her clan.

There’s a lot of action in A Witch’s Concern and it all includes a lot of magic. Michelle seems to be getting stronger, possibly because she’s had to deal with so many attacks.

I like how Michelle’s relationships have progressed, especially the one with Elron. The only person she can’t get along with is her grandmother because Michelle won’t bend to her will.

The characters are unusual and diverse. You never know who or what is going to show up, whether it’s a human, an elf, a werewolf, a brownie…I could go on. It’s such and interesting world!

The narrators did a great job. I like having a male and female narrator because it makes it a lot easier to differentiate who is speaking, although Jeff Hays did an amazing job in the first three books doing both male and female voices.

I definitely recommend A Witch’s Concern and though it does stand on its own, it is an even better read if the books are read in order. I’m looking forward to listening to or reading the next book in the series.

Absolute Power Might Not Corrupt Absolutely....

Absolute Power Might Not Corrupt Absolutely....But It Is Addictive!

This is #4 in the Witch for Hire Series.

This has multiple POVs, but it is a continuing story arc revolving around One Main Character! HFN endings with no BIG cliffhangers, but there ARE open issues.
I would advise to read these in order to get the most out of the experience.

Content Warning:
Still PG in terms of steam.

♥ Story ♥

A lot of things were tied up in the Witch's Path Box Set, but now the big picture issues are manifesting. Michelle and Elron can at least lean on each other for their PTSD issues. Plus, there is a wedding, eventually! The ebook counterpart is available through the Kindle Unlimited program.

It is eluded that there may of been a small breather, but this starts out crazy and doesn't let up. Sylvia's warning of more demons to come was a serious one, but no one truly knows when or where. Varro's knowledge and the Tree's gift are not things to be ignored, but Michelle's stubborn butt is determined to do so. I yelled at her so much during this book because she should know better by now! Seriously!

A lot of characters need a throat punch, or 20, I'm looking at you Gretchen! Their bad behavior makes the loyal characters shine even more. Big shout-outs for Amber, Nana, and Elron! You guys are the best and need an award, or a cake!

I see it as self fulfilling prophecies. They all bring it onto themselves, and most get their due. Before its all over, a whole new can of hot mess opens up and that is not even including the impending Demon problem. I am sure there is more crazy to come in the future! My fingers are crossed for a Michelle and Elron wedding, but I'm not holding my breathe.

♥ Author ♥

N.E. Conneely Continues to fill in blanks, as she draws new ones.

♥ Narrator(s) ♥

Jeff Hays and Laurie Catherine Winkel narrate. This is a true Duet so all the characters are the same voice all the time no matter who's POV the chapter is focused on. It's the BEST way!

Jeff Hays continues to voice all the guys, Yay! He is still Amazeballs, but he is getting a partner in crime this time around, and it is only getting better!

Laurie Catherine Winkel does all the girls and perfectly complements Jeff. They make an awesome duet team!

Wonderful Animated Fantasy World

After listening to the first three books of the series, I was revved up to listen to this one.
I enjoy the multiple narrators and the ways they use their voices, even in so far as to create the feel of distance if dialog stretches from another room or longer distance.

Lots of talent went into telling Michelle’s story about an unclaimed witch, her special skill with ruins and spelling, her recent relationship with a elf who she jokes with as geriatric, being over 1500 years old. Michelle’s lifespan will be close to 300 years if she doesn’t die first by her amazing capability of being in the wrong place at the right time. Thank God, she is really lucky, has nature at her back and lots of supportive friends. She does live in a scary world where demons still roam, hidden so well, they aren’t apparent, and often wonders if her choices in how she deals with evil forces are the best. Will that get her killed?

Conneely’s world building is quite believable and very entertaining. Her talent to propel a story forward with plenty of suspense with twists of surprising character keeps me reading with eagerness.

Michelle and her relationship with her elf is a slow-burn, deep feeling relationship rather than a hot spicy chemistry-filled emotion. I enjoy Michelle’s desire to work alone, protect what is hers and do the right thing.

I look forward to continue both the book and listen.

A Witch's Concern

Know any witches who would be willing to join the police force to keep back the evil and vile supernatural creatures from the light of day? What about any vampires, werewolves, unicorns, or trolls? This supernaturally charged fourth installment is highly entertaining, mysterious, and growing in paranormal suspense! Conneely has written a series, filled with humans and magical creatures who can both live simultaneously in the same place and still know who each other really is. That is very original and unlike the typical “keep it a secret from humankind”. In this fourth installment, the reader learns more about the history of clans and Michelle’s birthright in a long line of ministry bloodlines.

Michelle gets a flat tire and pulls off of the road to assess the damage. When she sees the complex nature of the flat, she knows that something is not right. Once another car pulls over to aide her, she not only doesn’t want their assistance, but she also suspects foul play. She was right. Previous claims against Michelle being clan-less has risen to a top priority for some people…including her grandmother, a clan minister of the Wapiti Clan. With Michelle’s power, any clan would be crazy not to want her on their side. Once desperation kicks in, things start to look ugly and danger begins to follow Michelle along with her family and friends. Can Michelle learn to always look behind her for the next attack or can she put things to rest for good?

Conneely has a superb story-line and wonderful character development in this fourth installment. The continuation flows perfectly from the previous installments. The characters are snarky, mysterious, humorous, and most importantly magically-inclined. The pace is very fast and provides a sense of thrill and urgency to the story, but not in a bad or harsh way. Since this was an audiobook that was provided, the flow of the story was terrific and the story seems to be well-written in order to flow as well as it does. Hays and Winkel are virtually impeccable with their dual audio relay talent. These narrators makes this story come to life, more so than imagery that the readers can come up with through description alone.

A copy of this book was provided to Turning Another Page by the Audiobookworm Promotions, but this in no way affects our honest opinion of the book or the review that has been written. We provide a five-star rating for A Witch’s Path by N.E. Conneely.
