Publisher's summary

To save his family from his tyrannical mother, Julius had to step on a lot of tails. That doesn't win a nice dragon many friends, but just when he thinks he's starting to make progress, a new threat arrives. Turns out, things can get worse. Heartstriker hasn't begun to pay for its secrets, and the dragons of China are here to collect. When the Golden Emperor demands his surrender, Julius will have to choose between loyalty to the sister who's always watched over him and preserving the clan he gave everything to protect.

still a strong storyline - love the reader!

I stumbled on the series and liked the plot but what kept me coming back was the reading performance. I always buy the next one through kindle but wait to start until audible has it too. excellent.

Fantastic series - fantastic performer

The series grew better and better as the installments were published.
The reader vikas adam had as many different voices as the legendary mel blanc.

Great Story. A bit whiny.

I really like this series and the world Rachel Aaron has created. I very much enjoyed the first two books in the series.

This installment of the series is basically a character developement and background piece with a little story advancement sprinkled in. The events in this installment would have made a great short story. Like all of the other books in the series so far there is a lot of whining and the often used term “it doesnt have to be that way” is still ever present.

I hope that the story can really continue in the next book now that Rachel has thoroughly explained and exhausted the back story and character development.

Oh my gosh! How long till the next one?

All I can say is, "Rachel Aaron, how do you think these up? AND be so funny I want some of your dialog to be t-shirts? Wow. BTW, Vikas Adam is my rock star."

Good, but drawn out

A chunk of this book is just rehashing the same discussion for the one or two characters who weren't in the room. It makes whole chapters feel like repeats of the one before.

Best parts are the dragon intrique

I have really enjoyed the series as a source of entertainment while working, but I loose my focus when the talking and talking about the wind, the size of spirits, the dead, etc. starts. All the rest has been great fun.

Love This Series!!

Rachel Aaron does a great job of developing each character as an individual. There is adventure and just enough romance to keep it interesting, but not too sappy sweet. Keep up the good work! Can't wait for the next book!!!
