Publisher's summary

This is not the story of preppers with stockpiles of food, weapons, and a hidden bunker. This is the story of Colton Ryman, his stay-at-home wife, Madison, and their teenage daughter, Alex. In 36 Hours, the Ryman family and the rest of the world will be thrust into the darkness of a post-apocalyptic world.

A catastrophic solar flare, an EMP - a threat from above to America's soft underbelly below - is hurtling toward our planet.

The Rymans have never heard of preppers and have no concept of what prepping entails. But they're learning, and they are running out of time. Their faith will be tested, their freedom will be threatened, but their family will survive.

An EMP, naturally generated from our sun in the form of a solar flare, has happened before, and it will happen again, in only 36 hours.

This is a story about how our sun, the planet's source of life, can also devastate our modern world. It's a story about panic, chaos, and the final straws that shattered an already thin veneer of civilization. It is a warning to us all - never underestimate the depravity of man.

What will you do when the clock strikes zero?

Midnight is forever.

feels like someone trying to sell me something

the story is good. the narration is grate.
i don't like the attitude of the characters, it's feel like the author is trying hard to convince me into some ideas about humanity in crises.
i didn't bite...
it was filling like reading futuristic 'Earth abides', but not as well written and sliced to peaces of 5 hours so it will have more income.

Good Story

This book had a good story, and I would have given it 4 or 5 stars, had it not been for the politics.

Can't wait to read the next book!

My only complaint is it wasn't long enough! When it ended I needed MORE. Had me hooked from the start. Well written with characters I loved. Very suspenseful. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book.

I have other books narrated by Kevin Pierce and he's awesome. Wonderful narration as always.

Very much liked

This book was great!
It is a fictional story of a very possible even. It was well researched and practical. Had a great storyline, and was clean!
The narrator is top notch, you could not do better. I look forward to the next few books. I'll give it a A+ on all fronts.

Could not put the series down

This would be a candidate for a great mini TV series.
I was glad to digest the whole series at once.

a geat job by the actor

the thing I hate is these books are all series to get you to buy more so they only give you 1 senerio at a time. that keeps me from buying more. also I'm not sure if the fact that clinton won the election as insinuated by the story is the fact that her lack of leadership is a joke. or the author actually hoped that she won. she was not mentioned by name . but, the description of the President leads the reader to believe that she won is a joke in itself. good book other than that. just stop making all these grid down books series. I like to read start to finish and that's it. I know you just want to keep people buying so you only give one senerio at a time.

Good book, I liked it

Good book, I like it, already downloading 2nd book. Needs to be longer though. If it gets even a little bad will stop listening because I don't want to waste money and credits on such a short book. That's all I have to say bad about it though.

Story was ok; flat narrator

This book has a slow start, especially for a relatively short story, but gets better over time. The unfortunate part is the narrator. He essentially uses one voice for all of the characters, making it tough to follow if you are not listening intently. The book was still enjoyable...just a disappointing performance.
