This fear does not necessarily arise from the scary disease it actually is, but various misconceptions, myths, and misunderstanding that surround it. This disorder has been very thoroughly misunderstood and misrepresented.

Lives can suddenly be sent crashing down when images, conversations, smells, or sounds begin to remind us of something that is now associated with a traumatic event of that time. Emotional trauma increases the feeling of shame inflicted many years ago. Families hid it and never spoke about it, fearing that the trauma would shed disgraceful light on the survivor - the syndrome of "we don’t air our dirty laundry”.

Cannabis is not just marijuana. Medical cannabis is used in treating patients with HIV/AIDS, cancer, chronic pain, muscle spasms, and neurological problems. One medical cannabis product is CBD hemp oil. CBD oil is made from the cannabis plant. However, CBD does not make you high and is a legal medical product in many countries (though not everywhere, so be careful). It's been proven effective in treating epilepsy, chronic pain, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It also improves learning, reduces inflammation and anxiety, improves mental health, and even helps give up smoking!

Still struggling from the effects of an abusive relationship? Many people do, and sadly, there is very little information available to be found online, in the written research, or with counsellors and therapists that can help. The "gaslight effect" is not officially recognized, nor is it widely even known. Even when it is accepted, recognized, and known, not many people seem to know what to do about it to heal it.

We've all had to deal with narcissistic, egotistical people at some point in our lives. You know, those people who only care about themselves and their self-image, have no sense of empathy, and are often overbearing and callously stepping over boundaries with their ways. It is not a pleasant experience, especially if you're an easy-going person. But it doesn't have to be that way. In this book, Alex C. Wolf puts together a complete reference guide to help you recognize, understand, and deal with narcissists.

My First Audio Book
The book helped me understand better what someone with schizophrenia is experiencing. Sure I need to read and experience more to be a good clinician and this book in its own way was encouraging to do just that.
I would definitely recommend this book. As a side note, I have added several of the author’s other books to my reading list.

Accurate Brief Expert Memoir of Friend of Patient
Like the succinct but accurate study of symptoms and treatments. Sorry to say treatment is sketchy - but that is reflective of reality. Rogers has family or friend with the disorder so speaks from personal experience. Not sure he is PhD or MD. Probably not. Exactly how he became learned (what he read, who he consulted, when, where), would have been helpful, along with his resume. Sorry to say medical experts have few answers, so accurate amateurs with personal experience can be helpful. Thankfully, there are many instances of handling the condition with moderate success. Memoirs of friends and family and patients in those cases might be helpful.

Amazing book
If you are looking for a quick guide that is easy to understand and contains all the relevant information about schizophrenia, this can be the book you are looking for.
It is not a professional, in-depth research or medical textbook. It is written in plain language so everyone can understand it. Schizophrenia is extremely complicated condition and it is not a bad idea to educate yourself because you can never know when you might need some information on this sensitive topic. I recommend this book to start.
