Publisher's summary

A thrilling magnum opus on America's great crime epic

A Mystery Writers of America “Grand Master” - author of the gangster classic Road to Perdition, longtime Dick Tracy writer, and multiple Shamus Award winner - teams with an acclaimed rising young historian in this riveting, myth-shattering dual portrait of Al Capone, America’s most notorious gangster, and Eliot Ness, the legendary Prohibition agent whose extraordinary investigative work crippled his organization. Written with novelistic pacing and underpinned by groundbreaking research, Max Allan Collins and A. Brad Schwartz's Scarface and the Untouchable delivers - at last - the definitive account of the “Battle for Chicago”, the iconic struggle between the mythic yet real combatants who have captivated the world for 90 years.

HERE ISTHE REAL STORY OF NESS AND CAPONE!!

I have read several books, seen quite a few documentaries on both subjects. And I loved the original TV series of The Untouchables ( And yes, I loved the 1987 film version..I know,I know..I'm from Chicago) and yet I knew that the film version wasn't true for the most part. But this book provided so much information and how Capone' trial was more complicated than I thought, and Ness's life in Chicago was great to listen to. But what I appreciated was the just due your book gave to Eliot Ness. I've read the criticisms for years about Ness, and it seemed so unfair, particularly from Alderman Burke, who is now facing legal trouble of his own (for what else, alleged corruption). Ness and his Untouchables ,were awesome and brave who really believed in justice, and worked to bring down the world's most famous gangster. Thank you for this balanced look into the life and work of Eliot Ness.

Thorough

Incredibly well researched and detailed book. Forget other books, movies, mini-series, etc. This book is the real story of Ness V. Capone.

It is Great story.

This was enjoyable, but told me more details than what I expected. The Childhood details, Schools, Parents. I enjoyed the story in the years of Battle of Chicago.

A great deal of detail

A well written and in depth study of Al Capone, Elliot Ness, and their role in the prohibition era. Unless one is a true history buff, I would suggest fast forwarding through some of the superfluous detail.

Not my style of book, but that was a blast through history

Can’t say anything wrong about this book. Didn’t really know what I was truly getting into, but this was a good thorough book into the lives of 2 iconic individuals. Well written and great narrative performance.

I’ll be playing this one again. Even going to purchase the book to put in my library

Very interesting listen

Would be a lot better if the story was told in the order that the book is written very confusing until
you figure that out
