Publisher's Summary

When faced with losing his father's support, notorious rake Lord Julian Luvington sets his sights on Lady Sarah. She is as respectable as they come - just what his father ordered. But the lady shall not be easily won.

Lady Sarah Roseington is determined to marry for love or not at all, and she will do anything to obtain the freedom granted to men. A blackguard like Lord Luvington could destroy her hard-won reputation, but marriage to him also offers her the opportunities she cannot achieve on her own. What's a lady to do?

When Lord Luvington refuses to abandon his pursuit, Lady Sarah proposes an arrangement. Only the price may be more than either bargained for. Lady Sarah could lose more than her social standing, and Julian could lose his heart.

Historical Romance Brain Candy

Any additional comments?

The Audible version of Scandalous Endeavors: Ladies and Scoundrels, Book 2 by Amanda Mariel is a fun Regency romance that is entertaining and can be enjoyed in one day. It's what I call "brain candy" - one can sit back, relax, and enjoy it without having to think too much about the plot or world issues.

Great fun

Loved this second story in the series and with the narration of Anne Marie Damman the story came to life! A rake needs to marry to continue to receive support from his father. He picks out a lady but she does not maje up it easy. Delightful

Awesome!

I didn't realize this was the second book, but was able to read it just fine with no problem. It was really good! I don't normally read this genre of books, but the author writes so well I was in captured right into the story. the narrator was awesome as well.

Scandalous Intentions

I so enjoyed the second book in the Ladies and scoundrels series (it could also be a stand alone, but I would definitely recommend reading both books). This is a classic story of a Rake and a lady. Lady Sarah is not interested in giving him the time of day or ruining her reputation. I really enjoyed both characters. And love it when the Rake sets his sites and does not give up. I can't wait for the next installment of this series. Nice job on the narration.

*shrugs*

I have to say that I found the heroine very unlike able. The story itself was just ok, the elements were there but nothing felt fleshed out and it seemed rushed, even choppy at times. I find it hard to just the narrator as the writing itself was lacking. Did the narrative contribute to that feeling or was her performance what made it tolerable? It’s hard to tell. Creditworthy? Doubtful, I think it was part of a romance package or came with the written version... I don’t recall, but no, I wouldn’t waste a credit on it.

Wonderful love story!

Julian was a notorious rake whose pride kept him from telling Sarah that he loved her. She knew of his ruinous ways and when he admitted to her his father was going to cut him off without a penny if he didn't marry soon, she ran from him. Great story!

Just too flimsy

These books are just too short. They are nice if you have only room for a quick super light listen but there is really very little plot and nothing much happens.

Nice treatment of unwelcome courtship

I thought the narration was well done. I enjoyed the performance of the various characters. The story is well written and easy to follow. It combines the unwanted courtship and marriage of convenience tropes and has a decent but not overwhelming level of angst.
