Laws of Engagement for dealing with an Ex:

Rule #1: Don't give into temptation for a kiss just to see if they taste the same.

Rule #2: No clothing removal. Seriously, don't take them off.

Twelve years and too many pairs of stilettos later, Shaelyn Lawrence is back where she started: New Orleans. She's returned only to take care of her grandmother, and after that? She's out, hopefully long before she sees irresistible Brady Taylor, the boy who stomped all over her heart. But when a family member approaches her for help, there's only one person she can to turn to...and he's just as infuriatingly sexy as she remembers. Oh boy.

New Orleans Detective Brady Taylor has his sights on the finish line: getting promoted to sergeant. Nothing and no one is getting in his way - except that he didn't prepare for her return, the girl who left him without a word. Resisting Shaelyn has never been his strong suit, and now all he can think about is stripping her out of her f--K-me heels and kissing the lipstick off her sassy mouth. And when she asks him for help, he's forced to decide between his career and the woman he's never stopped loving.

Rule #3: Don't even think about falling in love again...

Say You'll Be Mine is the first full-length novel in the NOLA Heart series, but can be listened to as a standalone. If you like quirky characters, hot cops, and steamy scenes that will have you fanning your kindle, then you're in the right place. Things are about to get hot down in the Big Easy...

Plot

So….the major conflicts of the characters are really not that interesting or make a ton of sense. Not really well flushed out. In the end it was a chore to deal with their particular “dark secrets” and the conflict born of that felt non sensical.

Good clean story line

Good clean storyline. It was hard to follow at times but that may have been because I was multitasking. Good story

Second Chances Goodness

I'm not sure how I've missed this Amazing Second Chance Romance series!! Say You'll Be Mine is Book 1 in A NOLA Heart Novel series.. Shaelyn and Brady were Destined to be Together. The Characters are so Loveable, and there’s lots of Humor throughout the Book, along with the Spicy Scenes! This Story is about letting go of Your hurtful past and moving on to a future You never thought You would have. Shae was a very Relatable character, written to be realistic and human with genuine emotions (not something that all writers achieve), And I loved her interactions with her Grandmother! So funny! Brady is so Swoon Worthy and will capture Your ❤. This is a Laugh Out Loud and Squeeze Your Heart at the same time.. Definitely Your Next 5 ⭐ Read..

Hooked from the beginning!

I started three different audiobooks before this one and just couldn't get hooked, but this one hooked me from the beginning! the characters were great and the story held me from beginning to end.

I love second chance stories, but I'm also very critical of them. I hate when a character is expected to forgive and forget just because the other person shows back up. However, that was not the case with this book. Both of the characters were great, and they truly deserved a second chance.

I love the other characters that were introduced in this book and can't wait to find out more about them throughout the rest of the series!

The narration was very well done, and I won't hesitate to listen to more! The pacing, intonation, and emotion were all great!

Sweet story

A sweet love story. Well written however the story was not very involved and the 'bad' things were over exaggerated in my opinion.

love the southern flare

I absolutely loved the melding southern grandmas who are friends, but don’t like each other too much. Of course there’s history there, but it absolutely cracked me up.
This second chance romance was needed all because of a misconception from when they were 18 or so. I put miscommunication at first…but considering that there was no communication, I decided it was the wrong word. I hate it when couples break up over something that if they would’ve just talked, there would be no issues. That being said…I’m so glad that now that these two are older, they have the knowledge to talk things out, try to understand situations and each other, and not let misconstrued realities rule their lives and relationships. Now…a little bit of groveling was needed, but the willingness to go that extra mile is what makes that perfect book boyfriend.

Jae Delane’s narration is that southern flare I love

Too angsty

The narration for this book was fantastic! All the accents & voices were great. The story line itself was good. However, the heroine was way too wishy-washy with too much unnecessary internal angst. I understand wanting to extend a story or create roadblocks for the couple to overcome, but I just kept getting annoyed with her internal conflict.
