Publisher's summary

He should’ve never left his house. He should’ve stayed at home. He has a legitimate excuse - he’s running a fever and he’s fairly sure he’s developing pneumonia. He should have called in sick...but he doesn’t.

He goes to work, because his team is relying on him.

First, he has to sign about 8000 calendars - all from women who purchased said calendars to benefit the Fallen Officer fundraiser. And when he’s done with that, he has to endure a television interview along with the rest of the SWAT team seeing as they made national news with their "Hot SWAT" calendar that’s sold a million copies to women all over the world.

Needless to say, when Samuel Adams walks into the pharmacy hours later, he only has one thing on his mind. Ibuprofen.

Sadly, he never gets to the Ibuprofen. Mostly because before he gets there, he finds a junkie waving a gun around threatening to kill anybody that moves.

He’s running a fever. That has to be the reason that the girl in the corner begins cursing up a storm and drawing the junkie’s attention. Has to be.

Stop it, stop it, stop it!

She tells herself to take a deep breath. Tells herself that she needs to calm down. Tells herself that if she doesn’t get her act under control, things are going to get ugly.

And, of course, that’s when the curse words start flying.

The more nervous she gets, the worse her Tourette’s becomes. Which is, of course, why she stands up and gives the man a perfect target.

Thank God that the coughing giant in the corner makes the same move and saves her life.

And how does she repay him? By calling him every awful word in the dictionary.

Thank you, Tourette’s.

Great story

I love this author and her stories. This is a nice love story. It is bittersweet. You will need tissue.

From Pew, pew, pew! to Boom, boom, boom! I 🤣😭😍

This book had me laughing throughout the first half. The way Lani built Hastings character was captivating. Hastings tourettes was portrayed with her saying catch phrases mostly from 90's commercials and it had me belly laughing. Samuel Adams, Sammy, I love how he accepted Hastings for who she is from her outburst to her creativity with her books and helping her with research.

The chemistry between Sammy and Hasty Cakes was magical. Just as you would expect in any Lani Lynn Vale book.

I loved seeing Miller and Mercy again 😍

But... unlike her character building, her story weaving this time was not what I expected.

It was more!

More laughter, more tears, more heartfelt moments, it was just more.

Joe Arden and CJ Bloom were the perfect pair to bring these characters to life!

Thank you for laughter, I'll bill you for the tissues I had to use, and thank you for making me fall in love with yet another couple.

Tourettes & Hot SWAT Guy

Lani Lynn Vale does it again! Great book. The main female character deals with having Tourettes and is an author who writes about "sexy, motorcycle hunks". She also gets to try out her books' sex scenes with her sexy SWAT man! 😉

Tissues required….

***spoilers***
I’ve read every LLV and this is one of the best and worst.

Best because it’s well written, great characters, just makes the time go by fast.

Worst because, well, the need for tissues in chapter 21 is overwhelming. I’ve ugly cried only a few times (and once was a son of the H dying of cancer) and this was one of those times. Remember the tissues!! You will need them!!

Hot SWAT + romance writer = 10 stars!

Lani Lynn Vale had my emotions going everywhere with Sammy and Hasting's book. I believe this is my favorite series by Mrs. Vale and each book in this series just keeps getting better and better.

All kinds of feels!!!

This story makes you laugh and cry. It goes from silly to serious in a heartbeat.

The heroine is hilarious. She has Tourette's syndrome and that gets her in hot water now and then, specially with people who don't understand it, or know what it is.

The story also puts you through an emotional wringer that leaves you thinking "WTF did just happened!?" The situation doesn't drag, but the emotions are all there for you to deal with. It also shows you all the good that can come from the bad like knowing that you are not alone when you thought you had been left with nobody by your side.

I wished there would have been less tragedy, it was short, but striking. Then again, is the loses and hurts that make you appreciate more every good little thing in life or that moment in time that you would not have even noticed or considered otherwise.

I loved Joe Arden and CJ Bloom's narration.

Recommended audiobook!
