A terror ride through estate planning

I trust the author’s true intention is to stop the preventable heart-break at the end of life and as assets transfers between people who care about each other.

However, I needed to channel Tony Robbins to get through the horrifying story after story to get to the parts I wanted to know. I had hoped to recommend this book to my husband after listening myself but I love him too much to put him through what I just went through. I listened beginning to end. I want this information.

Still in search of an intelligent book to educate us on estate planning.

Gives a decent overview of estate planning

This is a generally good overview of what estate planning is. It has some good anecdotes to explain why good EP is important. In the end, I think you'll have a decent understanding of what it can do for you. Personally, I was hoping for more good stories to explain EP from a practical perspective. There definitely are some, but for me it wasn't enough. I felt the author was too busy trying to sell you the idea you need a lawyer (which you do) but that got in the way of more thorough explanations. Still, it does a good job, just not excellent. Finally, but very importantly, the reader is too robotic sounding and static-y, which makes it hard to listen to.

Useful information but too much advertising

I think the book provides valid information but emphasizes too much the idea "you cant do anything yourself", you must use a competent attorney, but there are so many incompetent attorneys out there, so I guess you are left with pretty much only "one" intelligent option...

I agree that what you dont know that you don't know can be devastating and that you should hire a competent professional, but would enjoy material more if it was less focused on sales and a bit more focused on explaining categories and types of entities used to protect assets even though you are not going to do it yourself.

Overall I think it was well invested money and time.

Informative

Very informative and easy to understand. I would recommend for anyone involved in estate planning or settling an estate. It says that there are PDF add-on's which I could never find for the audio book.

Estate planning sales pitch

There are a few nuggets of gold in this book but they are brief and covered in little detail. Mostly it’s about why you need an attorney.

clear and specific prescription

His author was extremely knowledgeable and a lot of the clear step-by-step presentation on how to either get started or clean up what you may have already done period or paragraph. Yes, several ideas from this book that I've taken action on. Period strongly recommend for those looking to get started. Regardless of the value of your estate.
