Publisher's Summary

I wondered what my life would have been like if we had never moved to the ho-dunk town of Spring Valley, Illinois. Sure the Internet service was splotchy, there was nothing but miles of wheat fields, and I probably wouldn't be faced with death at every corner. My only neighbor in this god-forsaken town was...well there really was only one to describe him, hot as hell. With his sinful dark looks, unusually silver eyes, and kissable lips, there was something about him that was more than meets the eye. Of course I was determined to find out. Chase Winters might be drool-worthy, but he was also insufferable, arrogant and...in short a d-bag. Our relationship was anything but love at first sight. Not even close.

There was something weird about the family living next door. What I hadn't expected to find was an underworld of trouble. Chase and his cousins Lexi and Travis are Divisa, half-demon, half-human. Getting them angry was hardly in my best interest, not if I wanted to live. As it turned out, that might be the least of my problems. I've been tagged by hell. Now every ugly, nasty being from hades was on my trail. I have suddenly became a magnet for demon disaster, and the only way I am getting out of this alive was by putting my life in the demon spawn's hands. One wrong decision and my butt was toast.

Just ok

I agree a lot like the lux series but for a little more swearing it's an ok story. This audiobook was hard to listen to there were people talking and noises in the background and when chapters just abruptly changed it felt like I missed something.

Background noise is very distracting

The book is great, and Tara Millette's reading is amazing. But she must have recorded the book in an area with others talking. There is a man in the background talking, and it's s very distracting. It's not the entire book, but enough that I'll probably avoid books she narrates. I'm going to keep going with this series, and see if she figures out that she can't read with men in the background.

Good, but it is a rip-off of Lux Series

What disappointed you about Saving Angel?

The story line isn't bad but the whole book is basically a carbon copy of Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. All she did was pretty much change names and appearances. The story line is the same, the character personalities are the same, even the events that happen are mostly the same. If you haven't read the Lux series you would think this book is genius and amazing, but sadly most of us who have read this book have read Lux, and this is just way to close for my comfort. There are FAR to many similarities to be considered a coincidence.

Has Saving Angel turned you off from other books in this genre?

No way! YA is my favorite genre. I am a total YA whore!

What about Tara Millette’s performance did you like?

I loved the tone and pace of her voice, I wish they would have kept her throughout the series. The narrator for the 2nd and 3rd book has more of a whiny and high pitched voice that just isn't my favorite.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Saving Angel?

All of the scenes that were copied from the Lux Series by JLA

Any additional comments?

At first, when i read the similarities to Lux i was irate and refused to continue the series, but after reading further reviews that mentioned her books veer off of the path of the Lux i decided to give it a go. So far, the second book has a few similarities but none like this one does.

Poor Narration and Audio Recording

I work in the VO industry and the audio recording of this book is so, so poor, drove me crazy the entire time. You could hear background noises throughout the entire book, people talking even!! That’s insane! How was that not noticed and cleaned up? Not to mention all of the mouth sounds from the narrator that drove me mad, yuck no one had any green apples or water around for her???
When it comes to the storyline, while I found the book to be mildly entertaining it really wasn’t great. I have no idea why Chase would go from nice to nasty in 3 seconds flat, I mean enough already. Also, if Chase “smirks” one more time...!!! Seriously, all this fool does is smirk at Angel, gross. Not super likeable.

Great listening

I love how audible brings the to book to life. It's almost like you're at the movies and can visualize all the characters.

Narration doesn't match the book

Would you try another book from J.L. Weil and/or Tara Millette?

I like the book

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narration and the book didn't didn't match up!!! What was the narrator reading from ??

Any additional comments?

The last book I read/listened to by this author the same happened, but it was only a few words that didn't match up. This book has whole sentences and paragraphs replaced/changed/ or completely removed. It is extremely irritating and I really wish I hadn't bought the audible narration.

Good

I think it was a strong first in a series book. Looking forward to the next one. Chase will keep me interested.

Pretty good with one flaw

I really enjoyed this book. It was a good YA with different elements I haven’t heard before. The one flaw is there are parts when the narrator is reading (she is awesome by the way) where you can hear background noise of what sounds like production people. That sucked but it didn’t take away from what the author and narrator put together. 4/5! If you liked the first Twilight then you’ll like this.

buono

trama carina ma troppo rapida ... gli eventi sembrano iniziare e concludersi nel giro di pochi attimi... però bellissimo per una lettura leggera e romantica
