Publisher's summary
A Grisly Murder, a Desperate Ghost, and a 100-year-old Secret?
Buying the rundown Vineyard on Spell's Bay is Verity's Do-Over. It just needs a little TLC. And maybe a bulldozer.
It's here in the Magic-Filled town of Veil Falls that she will find out she's something more than Over-the-Hill and Broke...
According to Honor, her handsome next-door neighbor and resident Vine Warlock, she has a certain gift.
Only a Wine Witch isn't all she is. When the Naked Ghost on the Chair in her Bedroom starts asking questions, she's certain she's ready for the Not so Funny Farm...and determined to get rid of the Curse!
But after her first paying venue goes belly up....and Dead Hostess down, Verity, along with her newly adopted crime-sleuthing kitten Lois, will need to solve the murder quick if she want to get paid and keep the farm.
There's a load of secrets in this seemingly cozy little town where nothing happens by chance...
And the biggest one of all may be just past the spiders in the cellar on the left...
"...I enjoyed it so much that I read it TWICE..." Amazon Customer
"...I would give this more than 5 stars if I could...funny, intriguing and romantic...and what an ending..." Amazon Customer
Sauvignon Slaying is the first book in the exciting new Spell's Bay Mysteries...Come to Crooked Tree, sit for a spell, and have a glass of Sauvignon Blanc as part of the Veil Falls Wine and Murder Show...

Story
My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair. I have to speak to the police before my husband can. I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Story
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

Would you join a book club that gets absorbed right into their cozy mysteries? These people did, and now they are hooked on traveling into books to become the amateur sleuths! In this journey, the book club travels to the Kingdom of Everglow, where the royal family is rocked to the core when a key staff member falls dead at a community event. In the turmoil that follows, any evidence of what happened is destroyed, so they must go by the recollection of witnesses who were too busy enjoying the celebration to offer any valuable testimony. The royal family is further distressed when they ...

2023 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards Finalist This is no ordinary book club! When the group chooses a book, they are whisked away from reality to find themselves immersed in the story. The characters, the setting, and the murder all come to life. In order to exit the book, they’ll need to solve the mystery and reach The End. This time, the club chooses a mystery that takes place in a quaint western town – in the old Wild West. That sounds like fun, until they arrive in the dusty old town in the Arizona desert, among cowboys and saloons. They discover that the outhouse isn’t the worse ...

When this club selects a book, magic happens. They become the main characters in the story when the mystery comes to life. The club agrees on their monthly book. This one takes place on a cruise ship bound for Hawaii. Problem is, they were so excited about the cruising idea that they didn’t read the entire blurb on the back of the book. It’s a magical book club! When this group chooses a book, magic happens. The mystery comes to life, and they find themselves part of the story. To exit the book and get back home, they need to solve the mystery and reach The End. This time, the club chooses a book called The Great Cake Rivalry, because, well … cake! They read the back cover and it’s unanimous. So off they go into another grand adventure into a town aptly named Frosting. Frosting is a rural town in an idyllic setting. The people live quiet lives most of the year. But in the spring, things change. The Annual Cake ...

Story
When the fae beckon, few resist. Even fewer return. As a veil witch, I'm used to taking out the supernatural trash. Everything from poltergeists to vampires, you name it and I've dealt with it. So opening a paranormal cleanup business just seemed to make sense. If I'm already dealing with the pests, why not get paid? But when I accidentally breach the faerie realm to encounter a girl recently reported missing, start seeing the ghost of a witch whose disappearance has never been solved, and discover a Book of Shadows that opens only for me, I can't just go back to business as usual.

Apparently she's not so good at figuring them out, so she refuses to bother. Josephine knows it is safer to stay in the kitchen than to take another chance with her heart.

Allie Sutton just got a new job. Not one she wants, and definitely not one she's prepared for. She hadn't seen her dad in years, so the last thing she expects upon his sudden death is to inherit the thing he loved more than anything (or anyone)...the professional football team he owned for the last 20 years. Luke Pierson does not want a new boss. What he wants is to be a good father to his daughter, the best quarterback possible for his teammates. What he doesn't need is a blonde bombshell ruining the team's chances at another championship.

Good listen
Not my favorite virtual voice but it wasn’t too horrible. Really good cozy mystery with paranormal elements that were really well done. Will read more by miss rain. Very well done!

Enjoyed it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the listen. My only complaint with the virtual voice was that it didn't pause at scene changes. I'll definitely listen to more.
