2018 Readers Favorite Bronze Medalist!

From multi-award-winning author, Linda Watkins, comes a story of two women, from different walks of life, and the one dog who loved them both.

A feature writer for the Boston Globe, Sarah Palmer had it all – a beautiful apartment, a great job, and a family she adored. A thousand miles away, Mindy Sue Watson didn’t have it so good. Trapped in a marriage to an abusive alcoholic, her only pleasure was in tossing a ball to a skinny dog she’d adopted from the local shelter.

Sarah & Zoey is the tale of these two women and the one remarkable dog who saved them both. It is a story of the power of unconditional love.

Critic reviews

"Three disparate lives - two human, one canine - whirl through a circle of circumstance that is poignant, involving, and especially moving to dog lovers who want a novella about crisis, escape, and recovery. Sarah and Zoey can be read in short segments, so it's perfect for busy fiction listeners who want high drama packed into succinct chapters. The mechanics whereby loss and endangered lives heal are nicely portrayed in a winning story that emphasizes hope and offers an involving tale dog lovers will relish." --D. Amazing story, amazing narration.

Very well written and touchingly performed. The writer and narrator worked brilliantly together to convey so many emotions. I was engaged the entire time from
grief to fear to rage to elation- such a great book and definitely deserves more than one listen. Great work!

Emotional and Heartwarming

Unconditional love can be found in humans, an animal form. In Sarah and Zoey, two women and a dog find unconditional love while going through the hardest times in their lives. Mindy Sue was abused by her husband and saved when her loyal faithful dog interferes. Zoey (the dog) comes into Sarah life after the devastating accident that takes the lives of her husband and son. In my opinion, they all saved one another because of their love and devotion.
I will admit that certain characters I had a total disdain for and would have liked nothing better than to feed them to a pack of wolves. The book does contain some disturbing situations, but i was able to get past them and look for the good in the story. The story is heartbreaking and emotional but at the same time heartwarming and renewing my faith in humanity. The narrator was absolutely phenomenal her heart spoke through her words, making the story believable and thought-provoking.
