Publisher's summary

The peace doesn’t last long....

With the newly received schematics of the Gateway from Detroit, Tom and Alec head to the west coast to recruit more manpower, but find that not everyone is willing to rise against the Overseers.

On Tom’s orders, Cole travels to Chicago to uncover a hidden enclave of Roamers. Meanwhile, Lina must convince pockets of Freeborn to join the Reclaimer's cause.

Dex is forced to return to the Occupation and lie about his recent whereabouts. He sets off on a covert task that’s pertinent to the Reclaimer’s success.

Salvation is the second book in the sweeping post-invasion series, Rise, by Devon C. Ford, the author of After It Happened, and Nathan Hystad, the author of The Survivors.

Very good 2nd in series

You really do need to read/listen to the first book or you’ll be lost. Lots of characters to keep up with, but Ray Porter does a great job distinguishing them.
I only gave 4 stars overall because some elements of the story felt a bit contrived to fit the greater plot, plus the cliffhanger ending.
Oh well, it’s a good series and I’ll be getting the 3rd book!

Great book 2, Awesome series

Occupation was great and Salvation did not drop the ball at all. What a great series. Can't wait for book 3. Ray Porter is his usual masterful self. Come join us at 50 Shades of Ray on Facebook.

best book series I've read in 8 months (42 books)

I've been depressed worse than I e ever experienced in my life. in 1 year I lost my best friend to suicide, my father to a corrupt justice aystem, and my fiance to a guy who could afford her 12k. a month shopping addiction .

I have been so depressed going through everyday listening to audiobooks feeling like everyone is a carbon copy of the previous novel. seriously I feel like if it isn't copying undying mercenaries or expeditionary Force then it's a rip off of Galaxy's edge I've started to completely give up on Syfy .

I could read an entire book series like four novels back to back to back and literally the next day could not tell you a single thing that happened in any of the books it reminded me of being a little kid with severe ADHD and tourette syndrome trying to focus on the teacher but just not being able to. needless to say I had massive burnout.

that was until I found this book series.

comfortable concept that's new and interesting but not too wild or too hard to grasp. I love how he didn't even use aliens as the ultimate bad guys. the main antagonist was mankind subservience and trying to convince everyone that freedom is worth fighting for.

he definitely made sure the feeling of utter hopelessness is portrayed through the characters inability to even comprehend taking on their conquerors

I feel like there's going to be more explanation behind the twins because I really don't understand why they would have any importance whatsoever sure their dad was the leader of the rebellion 25 years ago but that doesn't mean shit to anybody in present times just because they survived wouldn't be enough to motivate people so maybe they were separated for a reason like they have a superpower that can only be activated when they are next to each other I don't know I'm just spitballing.

either way I can't wait to buy book three.

Great second book!

This is a really good series.

Great story, character development, lots of dialogue, and the descriptions are excellent.

Definitely a great SiFi book.

As for the narration, it’s amazing. I absolutely love Ray Porter. He does such a great job of giving everyone their own voice, the women sound like women. He reads with emotion and he has a very nice reading voice. A++++

Will humans survive?

When humans kill other humans because aliens tell them. Not right. But that's how this book seems to be going.

Great Addition

Instead of stalling out story wise, this second book just adds to the tension that the reader was left with after book one. It's like a foundational building. And the flashbacks are very telling. It's also nice to listen to a book with minimal swearing, etc. so that you feel you're listening to an actual story rather than filler. Ray Porter is exceptional as always.

So good💚

Like bk1 Salvation is action packed and suspenseful throughout. The Reclaimers' uprising plans are taking shape and the end is in sight.

The Overseers actually play little direct part in the story it's really all about the characters differeing roles and interconnected stories.

Now I just have to wait until next month for book 3.

Ray Porter as always provided excellent narration.

Wonderful and exciting and sad..

Wow, wow, wow! What a great second book. The characters: Alec, Cole, Tom, Soares, Monet, Dex and Lina are all wonderful. You can't help but like all of them; even if the one reviewer, who is full of s**t, said they were unrelatable and unlikable.

They all tried so hard to win against the aliens, and failed. BUT I think they're going to know how to do it in the next book. Which I can't wait to start.

No romance and no swearing to speak of, which is bulls**t! As much as I enjoyed this series I would not read anything else by Devon C. Ford. NOT swearing a mouthful in a book like this is totally ridiculous. The language is not believable. Especially not by the bad guys.

As for the narration: Ray Porter is simple fantastic!!
