Nobody is born a Saint, you must earn that title and change in pronouns through great deeds, or by knowing the guy who does the Saint lists.

This is the legend of Saint Frank, and the great deeds he what did to earn that Sainthood, not born a Saint, in the beginning he was just, Frank, but not long after some stuff that took long, he became Sir. Frank.

Sir. Frank may or may not have slayed a Dragon, if he did then this is the Tale of how Sir. Frank became Saint Frank, and if he did not then this is the story of nearly a Saint Frank and a triumphant Dragon.

Simon Carr is an absolute master of sarcasm, satire, and general skewering of - well - everything. Saint Frank and the Dragon is funny, absurd, and a rollicking good time. Nothing and no one is safe. Religion, misogyny, generational differences, slackers, royalty/leaders, "merry" men...all fair game, and there are plenty of (maybe) sexual innuendos and references to bodily functions, too. To sum it up, it seems the author had a great time writing this book, and I think most readers will enjoy it, too. However, the overly sensitive and easily offended may want to pass. You probably won't get it anyway.

The narration is fantastic. It's like he is in the author's mind, and knows all the characters. I can't imagine I would have enjoyed the story nearly as much if I read it myself. The narrator is that good, especially with all the asides that are part of the story.

I hope there is another book about Saint Frank in the works. He has another quest and so many questions to answer.

Satirical, ridiculous, and just a whole lot of fun

I was entertained by this story. There were so many instances where I laughed out loud or chuckled at the humorous incidences and dialogue. There were a few times where the story was a little too vulgar for my taste, but on the whole, it was unrestrained fun. I'm looking forward to the next book. I was amazed at Maxwell Zener's narration as his performance was entertaining and added to my enjoyment of the tale. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Wildly Funny
