Publisher's Summary

I've been a questioner all my life.

So begins Academy Award-winning actress Shirley MacLaine as she invites listeners to join her on the most powerful, provocative journey of her life. Sparked by the experience of moving into a new house, she is inspired to look back across the remarkable professional and personal milestones she has experienced so far. Surrounded by the artifacts of a life well-lived, Shirley discovers the invisible threads that stitch together the seemingly random events of her days, adding meaning even to the mundane.

Having grown older, she is increasingly concerned with the potential pitfalls of modern medicine. She shares personal insights into nutrition, homeopathy, and alternative medicine, offering practical and bracing advice for anyone looking to expand his or her understanding of health and well-being. Beyond the physical, Shirley also explores those things that are unseen. What is consciousness? What is the purpose of our lives? Are we alone in the universe? And perhaps the greatest mystery of all, what happens to us after death?

Filled with her trademark wit and candor, this is a fascinating, inspiring memoir that will delight and captivate Shirley's legions of fans and fellow travelers everywhere.

Shirley's continuing journey

Those of us who have been sharing the spiritual journey along with Shirley Maclaine will no doubt enjoy her latest offering. As another who is also aging, even though a generation younger than Shirely, I can appreciate her candidness in talking about the changes in one's body, the aches and pains that weren't there yesterday and the nontraditional methods one can use to treat them.

Shirley's book also covers her discovery of balancing the body's ph level, moving into her new home, and some amazing stories and revelations about UFOs and alien abductions told in a way that only Shirley can.

I am so pleased that Shirley narrates the book herself, unlike some of other authors. You really get a sense that she is talking directly to you.

I'll be listening to this one again in a few months - there's so much to comprehend, I know I'm not capturing it all in just one listen.

Wonderful...

She is not only a great actress, but also an illuminated soul and a teacher... I have seldom enjoyed an audiobook as much as this one. After listening to it I feel I have actually been given something that will stay with me forever... Thanks, dear Shirley!

Wish it would have been unabridged.

Shirley is a pleasure to listen to. She might have slowed down a bit, especially in the beginning.

great book, not what I expected.

Shirley is a great reader, seems as though she is talking directly to you. BEWARE this book doesn't focus too much on life story but some very interesting beliefs that she has on consiousness and star being connection. She has a lot of valuable knowledge we should take into consideration.

Incredible

I've always been a big fan of all her movies. I saw the made for TV mini-series "Out on a Limb" many years ago and had a spiritual awakening. This is one of her best books yet and I'm amazed at the level of information that came through on this one. Fantastic giver to humanity!! I hope she lives well past a hundred because she keeps getting better.

Disappointed

Although I am of fan of Shirly McClaine and some of her previous writings, I did not think it met my expectations. It was tunnel vision all the way and I did not feel any more enlightened or gained any further knowledge or understanding than when I began the book.
