Publisher's Summary

Sometimes fated love requires...some good old-fashioned magikal meddling.

Coyle O'Caha, a 700-year-old immortal druidsorcerer, is a famed warrior among his kind and a legendary ladies' man - but that doesn't mean he hasn't spent his life looking for his soulmate. That one woman who will make him feel whole. When Deri walks into his seaside pub, clearly running from something or someone, it's all he can do to not sweep her off her feet and claim her right then and there. It's as if the goddess is mocking him. Not only is his mate immune to his charms and his magik, she's human.

Deri Sullivan's new boss has a Scottish lilt that makes her knees weak. The problem is he's a certified ladies' man. And she's sworn off those types - for good. If only she could stop dreaming about him in ways that would make any girl blush. See, she has a secret, and even if she wanted to let Coyle into her bed, she couldn't actually let him into her life. Witches and humans simply don't mix.

Secret love

Mandy M. Roth takes us into the world of Driuds and witches. Dary has been banished and is looking for a place to start over. Little does she realize she finds a job with Cory who is hiding the fact that he is a very powerful Druid. Mason Lloyd does an awesome job in storytelling. The story was very enjoyable.⚘⚘⚘

Just Magical!

I read this book several years ago and after listening to it I thought back and just went wow! There was so much that I had forgotten but listening to it made me remember why I loved it and the series. A witch on the run, an immortal druid highlander, and an ex who is full of dark magic, what more could you want. Coyle and Deri both lusted after the other but know nothing could or should ever happen between them. Deri knows her time is limited as she is hiding from her ex. The one responsible for her not being able to use magic and being shunned by all in the magical community. One night they are thrown together, maybe by a little help from a meadling cousin, and sparks fly (in more ways than one).
Mason Lloyd did a great job narrating and just made the book come to life.

Wasted Opportunity

I was enticed by the premise of Roth's book. But there ended up being so much wasted opportunity. Set in a fascinating supernatural world, pieces of the plot were left unexplored. Characters didn't feel fully developed, and some of thier actions were illogical. Now, the chemistry between the two characters was deliciously hot but I was looking for more than that. And then the story was over all too soon before it really took off. Where was the suspense, intrigue and excitement?

The narration was good.

Sacred Places

Would you listen to Sacred Places again? Why?

Yes and I will because it is a fun, short story with great characters and I love the narration.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Coyle, he was funny, wicked and so in love/lust.

What about Mason Lloyd’s performance did you like?

Although he is one of my favorite narrators, when he uses any Celtic accent it is the highlight of the audio for me.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Several laugh out loud scenes.

Any additional comments?

The story of a witch on probation after being wrongly blamed for a misdeed, ends up in a major Druid training center. All try to hide their magic from each other and end up madly in love, thinking a relationship impossible.

Crap

It starts off good with a nice story line, than bam the fight scene was very short and all of a sudden it was a few years later and then the end of the story. Don't waste your time nor money or credits on this book. Heaps of other Highlander books in the world that actually keeps a story line and doesn't end so abruptly into the story line.
