Humanity now, perhaps more than in any previous time, has an opportunity to create a new, saner, more loving world. This will involve a radical inner leap from the current egoic consciousness to an entirely new one. In illuminating the nature of this shift in consciousness, Tolle describes in detail how our current ego-based state of consciousness operates. Then gently, and in very practical terms, he leads us into this new consciousness. We will come to experience who we truly are and learn to live and breathe freely.

Publisher's Summary
This is the second book in the Peaceful Warrior Saga. Neither a sequel nor prequel, this adventure takes place within the context of the original book, shedding new light on the path he was to travel, and would one day teach.
After a period of training with the man he calls Socrates, Dan Millman is sent away by his old mentor to apply what he has learned to everyday life.
Struggling with personal failure and growing disillusion, Dan sets out on a worldwide quest to rediscover the sense of clarity, meaning, and purpose he found with Socrates. Then, a long-forgotten memory drives Dan to seek a mysterious woman shaman in Hawaii. She is the gateway to all his hopes and fears - and the only one who can prepare him for what may follow.
Deep in a rain forest on the island of Molokai, Dan encounters mortal challenges, vivid characters, and startling revelations as he ascends the peaceful warrior's path toward the light that shines at the heart of creation. In this compelling tale, the author breathes new life into ancient wisdom and reminds us that all our journeys are sacred, and all our lives an adventure.

Life changing
Would you listen to Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior again? Why?
Yes. Very inspiring and touching book.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I could feel the energy and emotions of what Dan went through. His teaching really felt in my heart. I was laughing and crying at certain moments. It made me reflect back on ,y life and got answers by myself on things I need to do to improve and move on. I have better sense now and more refined purpose in life.

Not as good as Way of the Peaceful Warrior
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes, it is a great story on a variety of levels.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I was actually kind of pissed off when Dan essentially discredited this story and the one before in the prologue. Part of the enjoyment for me was the blurring of reality and fiction, to start out and say this is all a work of fiction and by the way so was my other book was very disheartening. I highly recommend that authors leave this determination up to the readers NOT start out by apologizing?
What three words best describe Dan Millman’s voice?
Sometimes authors are good writers but their vocal skills are lacking, Dan is good at both and I enjoyed his voice, inflection, tone, etc. In his first book, I felt that he brought the story to life but in this one I felt his disclaimer upfront hurt the authentic feeling from the onset.
Do you think Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Not really, I was hoping this would have been a stronger follow up to "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" which was excellent, moving, authentic, and yes I did get lost in the book and even believing therein for extended periods.
Any additional comments?
Good book, well worth my time and purchase but just not as good as the first.

Something magical about Dan...
An extremely moving story, a great listen and I'm on my third already.
I feel this is almost as good as Way of the Peaceful Warrior, the latter being a closer to "true" story, but frankly, it feels just as real.
Like Way of the Peaceful Warrior, it's 100% uplifting and inspiring, with no dark corners.

Boring and very shallow
I had to skip most of this book. I got half way through and ended it. Just tedious platitudes on the humdrum new age stuff with no depth of insight, just a fake of what the author has read elsewhere, badly woven and childishly written. Audio made me give it a star and then added an extra star for me!

Narration is a step back
Great story and a wonderful addition to Way of the Peaceful Warrior, however its clear, especially early on in the book, Dan the narrator just isn't that interested in reading it - at least not as much as he was narrating Way of the Peaceful Warrior. I also found this book to be a bit too spiritual at times. completely throwing logic out the window whereas Way of the Peaceful Warrior certainly wasn't this spiritual. All in all a great addition with some really great characters and a returning character was a complete shock! lovely little story that I highly recommend purchasing!

Enlightening and inspiring
This book came to me at just the right moment as if destined. I've seen the word 'entrancing' used in another review and that sums it up nicely. The story is encapsulating and the frustration and elation at various trials is clearly transferred from the book to the audience. It's written in an easy to digest style that will enlighten anyone, no matter where on the spiritual development scale you are.
