Publisher's summary

Knox Masters knows what he wants, and he gets it. All-American football player? Check. NFL pros scouting him? Check. Now he's set his sight on two things: the national title and Ellie Campbell. Sure, she's the sister of his teammate, but that's not going to stop him. Especially not when he's convinced that Ellie is the one.

But Ellie isn't as sure. She's trying to start a new life, and she's not interested in a relationship...with anyone. Besides, it's not just her cardinal rule of never dating her brother's teammates that keeps her away; Ellie has a dark secret that would jeopardize everything Knox is pursuing.

3.5 Stars

The audio really ruined this for me. The male narrator reminded me of a bad actor playing a criminal in black and white films. I don’t know how else to explain it!
I did enjoy the chemistry between our MCs and found it to be believable, even if the reason behind our H being a virgin wasn’t (but this is contemporary romance, so who cares)? Zero stars for Ellie’s parents, who were just the worst.

Sacked by a Good Story

The focus of this story is the relationships, and how refreshing that we have a hero actually looking for love rather than one-night stands. Then theres the sibling relationship. These characters care for eachother. With a smidgen of angst and a whole lot of sweetness, this was a good story. Just wish the male narration was better.

I love this book.. BUT

This book is one of my go tos. If i am in a book slump I will read it. With life being so busy and still wanting to experience the story I have started to listen to more and more audiobooks. The big problem for me on this, is that the narrator Marc Bachmann. Though Marc has an amazing voice, it does not seem to work with the male lead in this story. His voice is raspy and he sounds like an older gentleman, but the lead in this story is a college age man. It threw me off a bit. Will i still listen? Of course.

Male voice did not depict part

The story was fine but the voices were too staged. The male voice needed to soften his impeccable articulation to sound more like a football player. He didn't read the Warriors record correctly.

Too Kelsey Grammer

The story was enjoyable. The female narration worked. The male narrator reminded me of Kelsey Grammer. Didn't at all like the voice of a college age guy imo.

4 Sacked Stars

Knox and Ellie,
Hmm I give this a 4 star rating because I like the story line and it was over all good.

I just wanted to know more about Knox, we get a pretty good picture of Ellie and her life and background. But for me I just feel like we skimmed over Knox.

I loved the interactions with the team there were some pretty funny things.
I even loved the interaction with Ellie and her brother even if he was a little naive about his grades. Did he not suspect at all really??

I just all around like this book I will probably re read it I liked it so much maybe I will get past my hang up of not knowing all there is to know about Knox lol we will see.
Also this swoon!
"We didn't fall for each other, we fell into each other."

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Just stop and don’t....read instead

So the story I was okay with. It delivered everting a typical sports romance had to offer. It’s the narration that KILLED this for me. Seriously, M. Bachman is not the right fit. He is no way a college athlete. S.Rea is not a college girl either. It was really off putting and hard to listen to. The delivery is way off and was the one thing that ruined it for me. Which is sad bc I know authors spend $$$ on getting their book narrated. Bad choice on her part.

Just what I needed!

I have had to go to audio books because of a disorder, and I've been in a bit of a funk. This is JUST what the doctor ordered!!!! I'm not college age and I'm not old, but I'm a bit in the middle. BUT reading about a TRUE and SURE love that takes work and sacrifice was beautiful!!! There was no unrealistic drama or crazy ex's that should be institutionalize but end up getting their own book! It was REAL!!! I could see it and feel it as the words were being read!

Both voices fit the main characters great! I had one before that it was an older man with a scratchy voice and I couldn't finish because it distracted too much from the story. Sacked was done really well! You feel a lot of angst to know when the bomb will drop but again, it's realistic!

Love love love and I will listen to it again and again

great story.... Terrible narration

the narrators voice doesn't match the characters voice at all, and he puts emphasis on all the wrong words and just makes the reading of it awkward and weird. I was so disappointed I have read the book and loved it. I was looking forward to listening to it on my road trip, bit I could not get past the narration.
